Default Wiring help

Guys i need your help before i spend anymore money on things i may or may not need. I have an Infiniti QX56 SUV and just purchased a Mechman 270 amp high output alt for under the hood. I have not got it installed yet because i am waiting to get all electrical done at once. Here are my questions. I have a very large Stinger battery under the hood and was wondering how should i Wire my system from front to back since i will be using 2 Rockford Fosgate 2500-1bdcp amps and a Rockford 600-4 amp? Also i am planning on purchasing XS3100D batteries for the rear and was wondering how many batteries should i purchase to Power this large load correctly? I am currently running my stock alt with one Kinectic HC2400 in the rear one one of the 2500-1bdcp and can tell the amp is way under performing. Do i need to run 2 separate runs of wire and if so how and what brand do you suggest? I just want to electrical to make my new setup perform fully. Thank you for your time.

Default Re: Wiring help

I would do two runs of welding 1/0 or one run of a bigger Wire positive. If it is a unibody then I would do a dedicated ground too. Definitely 1 3100 . Test your system and if you are dropping too low then add a second.

What do you mean unibody? Also should the ground only be ran to the amps from the rear of my SUV? And the 2 separate runs of 0 gauge will come from battery up front to each amp in the rear?

Unibody means the vehicle doesn't have a frame. It relies upon the body as a whole for structural integrity. My pt is a unibody.

Your main runs should be from front battery to back batteries. You should have equal wiring from alternator to front battery as well.

If your car is a unibody then I wouldn't use a frame ground alone. Dedicated grounds are never a bad idea.

Ok how will i find out if my Infiniti QX56 is a unibody or not? I will use 0 gauge from battery to alt(big 3) and i am thinking of using XS power 0 gauge for all runs throughout my truck. It just seems now my amp is running at half power....

Default Re: Wiring help

The 2011-current Infiniti QX56 is indeed a unibody crossover-type SUV, but the 2004-2010 QX56 is a body-on-frame SUV, based on the Nissan Titan pickup truck, which has a fully boxed frame under its body. I'm not sure what that means for your grounding, but I hope this helps clear up any confusion.
