Default Best sound quality amp

I am wondering what the best sound quality amp is out there? Money is no object. Right now I have a Diamond D7104 but I am looking into a Maybe a mcintosh amp. I need it to have at least a 4 channel and have 100 watts or more RMS per channel. Let me know your thoughts on different amps. I am trying to get into the sound quality side of comps now.

There actually aren't any dedicated SPL/SQ amplifiers. So long as the signal is clean and not clipped, it's going to sound the same. The quality of sound comes from the driver reproducing it. Not from the amplification of the signal.

I feel as though you are a wee bit off on your statement, i dont care if you have a jlw7 if its being pushed by a amp that PUTS OUT A DIRTY signal it will sound like balls. and there are dedicated SQ amps but if your using 2 dollar speakers you might never know the difference, and as far as a spl amp there are take a look around you, unregulated power supply, .25 ohm stable for burps and .5 daily , amps that if you let the voltage drop to low they go up in smoke. those my friend are spl amps. stop talking out of the side of your mouth and make a more educated statment when posting , thank you

..I believe I specified 'clean signal' in my last post. And no. Amplifier class/impediance stability does not dictate its sole purpose of use. That would be like someone stating "You cannot use a Sundown 3000 for your door speakers". Or, "Only high efficiency class D amps will drive subwoofers" which could be nothing further from the truth. Your misinformed views make you ****y and dumb. "Thank you".

Nice way of avoiding what you said, a clean signal on any amp i guess makes them all equal . boy ive been going about my audio game all wrong, thanks for clearing that up for me. Sorry but my views are not misinformed unlike your opinion on amplifiers that are ****ty being able to push woofers cleanly.

well, whats that distortion amps produce? like memphis mono amps are .75 i believe, sundown is .5 i believe, then most 2 and 4 channel amps are like .05 .005 down that line so yeah. if money isent a issue look towards zapco, maybe if you are lookeing for more sq, get a head unit with more higher voltage output, and better mids and highs and make sure usin good quality speaker wire, as u should know though make sure the speakers are mounted in the right enclosures facen the right direction and such. oh plus the music you are listening to make sure the kbs is ill say 128 or higher some prefer 256+ if your music has distortion in it, you could have a million dollar speaker and amp system, it will still sound like $100 set up

i had a zx1500 and moved up to the zx2500 and i noticed a huge difference in the sound, i.e.the 2500 lacked the ability the hit the lows as good no matter what i did it wouldnt sound the same, imo the 2500 is an spl amp

OK just to let you guys know I do have 2 sets of the Diamond D661's running currently, But I am upgrading those as well. I am selling my Diamond amp on ebay right now if you are interested in it.An amp I am looking at right now that has .005 THD and am thinking about going with that one. I have also been looking into a zapco, US Amps Tube amp, and a few others. Just keep the feedback coming in.
Thanks

Elf is supposed to be a great sounding amplifier but im unsure of th thd%, i say make a top ten list of whats in your price range and then hunt for the specs. eliminate the ones that are not up to par and pick one that will work best for you.

I might just do that top ten thing. Once again money is no object right now, I want the best out there. Rainbow is another one I just found out about.

The build quality, and whether the amp does it's rated power makes more of a difference. Car audio companies have consumers believing that there are major differences between amps. I have tested out at least 50-100 amps for bass and mids and highs and the differences when I switched out brands was very minute. What matters more are the quality of the speakers used in the install. That makes a huge difference. Now the quality of the amp makes a difference more in the reputation, components used in the amp and whether it will do it's rated power.

You're a tard buddy.
You wouldn't run a mono amp unless you had two of them (one for each side), and even then, you wouldn't run them on anything more than Midbass. Especially since the 3KD has a Frequency response of 10Hz~350Hz (+/- 1dB). As do most Class D amps.
Come back and I'll keep owning you if you want.

I would take a little look at this. I agree tube amp can sound different than solid state amp, There isn't any difference between solid state A vs solid state B.

alright thats some interesting information, now im woundering do some amps have a more accurate response. lets say you feed a amp a constant 14.4 volts, will some amps produce the bass better then others? will some amps be delayed some if its BOOM BOOM in a very short period will one amp pick up that second boom better then the other?
