I bought a Q12 in Sep 06 which replaced an XBL XXX12.

I loved the XXX 12, it did everything you could ask from a sub. The only weakness was the 80hz+ output.

The Q did everything the XXX did and more although the XXX could handle a little more power. Only other complaint is the shipping box could have been a little sturdier but the sub was delivered intact.

Awesome sub. And I haven't even mentioned the $259 price tag. That's hard to beat.

has the Q been tested sealed yet? im trying to decide between sealed and ported and only want to give up the extra space if ported is a lot better for this sub

idk but my Qs come thursday and i have a sealed box laying around....

Hey i got a Q 18 in the back of a nissan pathfinder
ive had 2 boxes for it,, one ported one seales,
ported was bout 5 cubes 26 hz
sealed was 7 cubes
i know ported is suppose to be bigger usualy but i was altering a sealed and made it ported instead of new box being built
sub is run off of a alpine 100m 250 rms class ab mono amp, old and nice,
anyway the conclusion i got was more excursion in the sealed, 5 db gain with the port, but the sealed did much better on the low end ,
this sub sounds nice ass hell on low end,, and is loud as hell on high end,, i equivelate the sq under 34 hz with a jl w6
