Default what else should i do, soundoff 5/30!!!!!

What else can i do to get louder on meter???

I am running 4- soundstream t5 12's off of 2-rockford fosgate T5002's in a 8.879 cu.ft. box tuned to 46.89hz, the vehicle is a 96' GMC Yukon 2DOOR.

Box is braced with 2x2 up and down in 2 locations and across, it is all resin coated with no internal corners and has an all-thread going through port to keep it from flexing.

As far as wiring I am running 2-140amp alternators(WITH SMALLER PULLEYS ON BOTH), 2-runs of 1/0ga, big3 +some in 1/0ga as well as multiple 1/0ga grounds in rear to body AND frame.

i have a stinger DB2 sp1000 battery in rear and a mostercable mega-cap.

both amps are ran bridged to 2ohm running a pair of subs on each amp.

all gaps in vehicle are filled with great stuff FOAM, then have a layer of rockford fosgate noisekiller blue with another layer of secondskin spectrum on top of that covering all interior panels and in doors and over plastic covering under door panel.

Also have 2- braces in the roof made of 3/4" MDF that go the width of the inner roof.

I am going to be competing in USACi in stock class, my amps only put out 150wRMS, which puts me in 0-600 stock BUT i have 2 amps so i think I'm gonna have to go into the higher class , so i want to make sure i can get the most out of my system.

At the last soundoff I was hitting 147.1db @ 50hz in passenger kick driver door open.
This was with stock alternator and voltage droping to pretty much 11 flat the whole time and NO sound deadening AT ALL IN ROOF.
now with the 2-140amp alternators even after playing full volume for a while the lowest voltage i can get it down to is 13.0v

So what kind of improvement can i make to my system????

well you have done well, i say that now that you have a stedy voltage to those ampos they will relly come alive now you will have clearer sound and overall better performane and they wont burn out on you because of low voltage.

OK.. i forgot about this post....but now i am looking for higher numbers

this last car show i did
0-600 stock 149.3db at 52hz
0-1000 modified 149.4db at 54hz
Sb4 144.6db to random cd i had(oj da juice)
super portwars 160.8db

i am now running 6 12's on 3300rms total...
....i want to break 150 though

i gained the tenth and raised my loudest frequency by folding front my seat and moving it forward.... BUT my top is still flexing in and out about 3"!!!!!! 1.5" each way... i have 1 layer of rockford fosgate blue noise killer with a layer of second skin sprayed on top of that, and i am in a stock class....

is there anything else i can do?????????

any recommendations????????

Try laying thin strips of wood along the roof to stiffen it up. Use sound deadener to hold it in place. Find where air is leaking out and seal it up. Stiffen body panels. Make sure that your voltage is solid and let the car sit overnight on a battery charger before a show to give a good solid charge.

Play around with your box. Experiment with firing positions and box position, box volume and tuning, port area, bracing, etc. Also mess around with the position of seats and other objects inside the car. A friend of mine gained almost 3db at the dash simply by putting the center console back into his explorer!

all by putting center console back in...i am planning to build a center console just waiting on some more opinions before i build, i don't want it to hurt SPL

oh and to SCHMITTY i did as you said and sealed up better and laid a stip of mdf and i am now at 149.8db, and this was with horrible voltage drop, down to about 10.9v at minimum.
And this was on a brand new first time used TL, so i think the stiffer diaphram may have gave a lower reading than the original meter i used (TL about 5 yrs old).

I am also about to play with port tuning as my box is tuned to 57hz and my cars peak is 52-54 regardless of tuning to 47hz or 57hz so i think i should have a healthy gain by getting tuning just right.

and i am also going from 3300wRMS to 10,200wRMSlus alot more electrical
