Default 8" mid with tweeter

hey guys its ben a long time i have not ben able to log in for some reason. well i need some help finding a 8" mid woofer that has a tweeter in the grille that can be powerd separately. i have a stetsom 1k6es 2 ohm so 1700 watts rms at 2 ohm for the mids and a vs400.4 for the tweeters. help me find any 8" mid woofer that is similar to what i am looking for even if i have to cut the wires to the tweeter to Power separately. i have looked at component sets but not very many.

What are your goals for this? All I'm given is you want a 8 inch driver and have gobs of Power for it. Even though they do make 8 inch coaxials it is limited.

Check out Parts Express as they do offer some units that do have separate tweeter inputs built in. Thing is your in the realm of pro audio so these won't play extremely low. There are others out there but may be of questionable quality.

Without knowing a price range and your required freq range for these I can't do much better then this.

I am wanting to get more sound quality but also get loud. I would like the speakers to be around at least $50 but can save more if need be and I need 8 of them. Just throw out what you find to give me ideas.

Well I would use this personally in this case. Found at Parts express. They have more but price jumps a lot.

1) Eminence audio is a great pro audio company with solid stuff.

Eminence Beta-8CX 8" Coaxial Driver

Just as a FYI these do not include the compression driver but the apt 50 which seems to be a good performer with this match up will add 24 to each driver or you can use however many you want here as personally I don't feel you will need all 8. Crossover externally at 2.5k or so

Now depending on when you plan to grab these you may want to wait till July 11th for there tent sale at Parts express. Past years they offered 20 percent off their entire stock. So would bring things down into your price range more.

These will get stupid loud while having (I assume 4 per side) multiple drivers will help keep distortion low and Sq should be great. Enclosures will help reinforce the low end but these should do great down in the midbass department. These will also use every last bit of power you have as well

How many you running per side and how do you plan to wire them? If its 4 (that's 4 per side for a total of 8) then you wire these in parallel and you will have a 2 ohm load at the amp. That's equivalent to over 400 Wrms available for each driver. More then enough for these.

If I had another 1k I could run 1 amp per door but the 8 8 ohm speakers will wire to 1 ohm.

So your playing mono? Why? I can see a one amp per side this way but you miss out on any L/R information in songs playing mono

you don't have to wire them to 2 ohms either. Being 8 ohms if you wire these in series, iirc, should result in a 4 ohm load at the amp. Also being incredibly efficient compared to some out there they will be louder at a given power level then other less efficient speakers. Plus having multiple speakers will further improve efficiency.

Seeing your looking at eventually getting another amp so you can wire each side on its own amp it be a good idea to plan for this future upgrade. These will scream especially if given rated power.

Also the APT50 is a super tweeter so keep that in mind if you go with that compression driver.

Also I'd like to invite you to come to Parts Express on July 11th as I'm holding a little get together there for those interested.
