Default 1996 impala ss

Ok guys i just bought a virgin 1996 impala ss and im planning a build.. i am planning to go with 2 memphis mojo 12's which are 2200 peak 1100 rms with a memphis mojo 4k monoblock.... my last Build in my single cab pickup involved 4 l7 in a blow thru style box... i liked the sound so much i thought about doing a 4th order bandpass in this Car and porting thru the rear armrest... i have never done a car with a trunk like this and id like it to hit all the notes very well and hard.. id like suggestions s on air space and sq ft and maybe even box suggestions as i would like a great sounding car... without all the trunk noise

ok first off watch the 4kw is a bit overkill for the mojo's...so keep the Power under check.....4th order would prolly give you the most bang for your buck but wouldnt have the best sound range....but im not sure the mojo's would like a 4th order...for a sub to like a 4th it need to perform well in sealed apps....new or old mojo's?

Not sure about this "it wouldn't have the best sound range"
A 4th could potentially give you the same flat response as a sealed box but with a +3db gain in a perfect world)
Also because all the sound comes from the port, doing a blow through would yield a better experience.

I know I loved mine. Loved to be able to hear and feel the rumble of 28hz but at the same time feel the "punch" of the higher notes.

Of course the woofer has influence on the type of enclosure.

The mojos are 3 years old. BUt never used ... 2200 peak 1100 rms....i now have a power acoustic bamf 5500... i have a builder who says 4th order will only hit low notes but some notes it just wont hit. U know one note wonder box... he also says ported will be wayyy louder!! But i dont want louder as in noise from the trunk i want air moving hard to swallow bass... this is my first buikd in this type of car and ive heard that these cars will sohnd like crap with the wrong box, and they are hard to make loud

It depends on the sub you are using in a 4th order, with the right sub, and the right enclosure design, 4th orders have an amazingly flat response with a small bit of gain across its range. I've heard peaky 4th orders, usually due to bad sub choice or bad enclosure design.

That being said, I do think those mojos are more at home in a ported enclosure.

Thanks.. i really appreciate the help. He was saying of building a box that appears to be sealed bud has ports above at the top in each chamber going to the rear deck...and dynamatting the trunk so that the rest of the waves can enter thru the xtra port holes in the deck what do u think? Will it have good cabin bass as that is what i want
