Default home theater receiver recommendation

I want to hook Car subs up in a home theater application. What would be my best option for a receiver that will work with car subs?

for car subs u would need a plate or rack amp.. and a reciever w/ a lpf/sub out recievers are not ment to power subs.

ex. i have a cheap yamaha reciever, klh mains, klh satelites, and a polk center, and for my sub i have a 8" rf P1 powered by a dayton 75w plate amp.

ok. with a plate amp....would it hook up to any standard receiver? and then does it matter if the receiver output is lets say only.....150 watts for the sub channel?

Harmon Kardon makes super sweet receivers. Although you will still need to find a good amp like everyone stated above. But for your question HKs are pretty boss.

Look into Pro Audio amps, you'll have a hard time finding a plate amp that does more than 1kw. Crown makes really good ****.

Buy Crown XTi 1000 Power Amplifier | Live Power Amplifiers | Musician's Friend

The crown amp in the link will have x-overs built in and do 1400w rms @4ohms bridged., but you will still need a pre-amp with balanced output. Even the cheapest of mixers would do fine. Do keep in mind this amp is not a studio amp, that means it has fans and they can be loud. If you are like me and turn up the music a bit you will never hear them.
