gotslap? at least in extended cab truck application's its the proven loudest ...well at least for smaller ones like rangers, s-10, mazda's

klumb15 i did a downfiring install in a ext cab sonoma one time, pounded but the SQ wasn't the greatest...

I thought it was always a rule of thumb to face the sub and port in the same direction, but sub forward and port up is the way to go or what?

stratusrt01 Downfiring the sub and the port, IMHO, sounds the best in an extended cab, you get the reflected bass like in a hatchback.

How to mount sub in ext cab truck

whats the best way to place a sub in an extended cab f150? the rear seat is a bench that has a 70/30 split, and the 30 part is behind the driver's seat, so it can fold down, but can't completely be removed. I had a system in there before, and we just strapped it down to the top of the seat, and faced it towards the drivers seat...i didnt' like it because it didn't have a solid connection to the chassis of the car, the vibration from the box was absorbed by the seat cushion, then the sub was facing right towards the back of the drivers seat so it was kind of being muffled there too...

so which way should I face it? back, sideways, towards the window (side of truck), towards the open space of the backseat? I would just build a box to see which way sounds the best, but I kind of want to build the box around knowing which way to face it.
