RidinLoudProd	Re: cerwin vega rebuild Alright so I got my recone the other day, go to find out it was the wrong one, I told them and they shipped me another one. I got pictures of it ill upload later I just ran a good bead of glue around the edge of the spider landing stuck the recone in place and shimmed it TIGHT and pressed the recone down, then reached inside the basket and went around a few times pressing the spider down tight to the landing....hopefully it turns out. then I just need to glue the surround. and put the new dust cap on.

RidinLoudProd	Re: cerwin vega rebuild Alright so as i stated the one had major coil rub, could not find a recone for it with that ribbed cone, could not find a replacement woofer without spending over $100 been looking ever since so the other day i finally broke down paid $70 for a recone shipped with the glue. $15 shipping, $15 for assembly.....the recone comes in pieces Im paying them $15 to glue the spider cone and coil all together and attach the leads to the coil. I just want to make sure everything is professionaly aligned and in the right location. as for the coil being attach to the spider in the right area. so right now i just got done getting my basket prep for the recone hopefully I get it by the end of the week! they are going to assemble it this week and get it sent out ill talk to them tomorrow and see if they started it yet.

RidinLoudProd	Re: cerwin vega rebuild another update speaker number 1 is glued and sounden great! I am in love with how it sounds I cant wait to be homealone and see what it is capable of as for speaker number 1 as i stated it had coil rub. I took it part way apart. unscrewed the screws that was in the motor and well they had nutts between the basket and the spider so now i got to tear out the spider to be able to put the motor back on so im pretty much need to do a complete new recone on that one which is a good thing i guess because the cone was a little warp to start with.

RidinLoudProd	Re: cerwin vega rebuild alright well i got the second one about done, the glue is drying holding the surround to the cone in about a hour ill glue the surround to the basket. I got the 1 hooked up now and turned it up some and i can hear major coil rub so IDK what im going to do. open to suggestions

RidinLoudProd	Re: cerwin vega rebuild alright sorry to disappoint but had a long day at work dont feel like finishing the other 12 tonight. havent had a chance to make a video of the 1 yet either ill see what i can do tomorrow i just know it sounds great. I do not believe the volume knobs for the mid and the tweeter works though.
