D1600.1/D1600.2
this seems quite obvious to me ... if you are gainset to 1150 then after rise you are probably right around 600 for 4 subs. thats 150 per sub and thats nothing for sa's... They need a bit more power than that to get going. So yes a brz1700 would be a big difference but a 2400 would be a very large difference. Correct me if I am wrong... Also what are you gainset to? What db tone did you use?

How are the subs aiming and where is the port firing? Also you can't really just play subs and tell if one is out of phase, touching a 9 volt battery to the terminal is a good way to do a quick check polarity. It's DC so the sub will move in, or out depending on which way you hook it up.

Re: mmats 1600.1 vs brz 1700.1...

damn im hoping its not the box cause i build it...the speakers are all moving the same...

this is the box...i have a thread on it and only 1 person said its good...lol...

51ins wide
12ins deep
9ins high in the back
14ins in the front
3/4 mdf

that gives me 3 cubes...i took away the 0.10 for each sub...i get 2.6cubes after that...im doing a 4in aero port at 8 1/2 ins long for 34hz...

Re: mmats 1600.1 vs brz 1700.1...

Something's off, possibly with the enclosure or something out of phase. I have once in my life seen a sub that was labeled backwards (actually the red paint dot was on the wrong side so it was probably a human error at the factory). If you for sure checked everything and it still doesn't sound right it's probably his enclosure.

Re: mmats 1600.1 vs brz 1700.1...

MMATS was the first company to do 1000 rms in less than 12" of sink. Or 1200, something like that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they spear-headed Class-D technology also. Handmade in Florida.

I know the older ones from the 90's did the do, but I don't have a clue about the newer line-up.

This is when amps like theirs were somewhat shunned because they were so dang small compared to the comp. like Orion, Soundstream, PPI, Hifonics. So alot of folks were leery about an amp that claimed 1000 rms but wasn't 3 feet long.

But for awhile they were doing some serious damage to the established sect's reputations. They were winning comps everywhere and guys were like, "where in the heck did these guys come from".

The older ones didn't have a subsonic filter, but could be modded at your own risk to put out even more power.

The one that started it all: MMATS D100 High Current Old School Amp for parts or repair | eBay

Blown; what a shame.

Big brother: MMATS DHC1400.1 AMP car stero subwoofer audio speaker box cd flipout tv wire | eBay
