I dont know a whole lot about that sub but Ive had 2 different 15's in my Car and my dad has one in his car (in about a ~3 cube sealed box) and they have hit the lows just fine. One of the 15's I had in my car was a original Rockford Fosgate Series 1 (produced in 1992). I havent heard a whole lot of tinsels fryin off either.. One of mine did break off near the voice coil but I feel that was a install problem on the shop who checked its end IMO.

wait so did you own a mofo?

It will be loud in the right box, as for sound quality its up to how you like it. Personally it didnt sound too good for me but thats because the box was like 45hz tune, im sure if you go lower it will sound like anything else. And yes one of the tinsels came apart at the cone (and I ****ed up the solder job so I was stuck running one coil), it took the Power from my JBL without problems. Honestly I wouldnt recommend it.

No I didnt own a mofo. Never really cared for them myself.. My sub is a 15" concept CSP-15 and as stated an old school rockford fosgate series 1 (S1 154). I was just stating my opinion on 15" subs in general.

It probably would, since in-car you'll probably only see around 800-900rms out of that amp. Id strongly suggest looking into different woofer(s).

Check out the Kicker Comp VRs. I know they're very common, but for the price, they are solid, and built like a tank.

If you're looking for something a little better than a CVR, look into a Fi SSD. They get pretty loud and sound very clean.

But for the love of all things holy, dont buy a type R.

Im not telling him not to buy an R because they arent good. They are pretty good subs for the money, and seem pretty meter-friendly.

I just get tired of seeing EVERYONE run a type R lol Gotta mix it up a bit.
