Default What are some good shallow-mount subs?

I'm helping a friend of mine pick out a system for in the future and he's 99% sure to be getting a truck.

i originally picked out type-r's but if he doesn't get an extended cab, we might need shallow mounts.

i keep hearing some buzz about some kicker shallow mounts but what are a few different ones? i think pioneer has some too...

Earthquake and Blaupunkt both make shallow mount subs as well.

okay cool, cvt's it is, if we need a shallow mount which we probably will, lol

anyone know a good site to buy those from? sonic electronix kicker products aren't discounted a whole lot and thats where i usually shop. and hifisoundconnection always carries old products; their cvt's are '05 models

the CVT's were not made in 05, they are a new 07 product, but Sonic would be a good place or Soudndomain if you want online, or check with your local authorized Kicker dealer...he will have them as well...

local authorized kicker dealer (100 miles away) would probably rape me with his prices so i'll stick to online.

hifisound doesnt even carry the cvt's yet i see

sonic goes for $149 for a 12" while sounddomain goes for $169... sonic it is i guess

thanks

wow...good luck finding those, even so, they are not really 'shallow mount' subs...

you've been through MT a couple times? not much here haha

the shop I would go to would be Good Vibrations in Great Falls, MT

i'm going there in about a week so I'll see if they can get me a fair price. otherwise i'll be ordering from sonic.

sweet, that makes me really happy to read

as for the JL shallow mount, i highly doubt it even comes close to the dub 7, but i havn't heard it so who am i to judge (and if it does get as good as a dub 7, i'm sure its really pricey too.

i would like to know what ppl think about the new Alpine Type-S shallow mount but i know its new and it will be awhile before some reviews.

Shouldn't take to long. The CVT is fairly new, my only complaint is the look on the CVT. I don't know why, but performance > looks, and it will be behind the seat and will never be seen so it doesn't matter much anyways. The best looking SM sub I have seen was probably the Power Acoustik/ Kole audio (Same thing except VC I think). From the front they look beastly. But I have heard they aren't that great. Personally I feel that the CVT's will make him the happiest.
