Default Fi Q questions

So from what I've read the Fi Q is a good SQ subwoofer. it is also in my power and price range. I was looking at the specs on the different sizes avalible and they all have the same RMS. What would be the advantage of getting a smaller or bigger Q with the same RMS? Would the 12" or 10" hit harder or be a little punchier than the 15" and 18"?? I will be powering it with a kicker zx750.1 which is a little underrated. I plan on putting it in a sealed enclosure for SQ unless yaw would recommend otherwise.
thanks

what is a "good SQ" driver? what makes a driver "hit harder" or "punchier"?

Well my old sub that died on me was a kicker L5 which had very loud but very muddy bass. It had no clarity to it. I am mainly wanting to know what size Q to get and what the advantages of the different sizes would be.

IMHO a lot of people say low bass is muddy and undefined, but it's simply the characteristic of a lower slower frequency. any well reproduce sine sweep will show the higher the frequency the sharper more well defined it is and as you get lower, slower, it is more rounded and undefined. if you watch the cone move, you will see what you hear.

a "SQ" driver plays wide and flat, vs "spl" plays narrow and peaked.

snappy and punchy is high frequency responce. no speaker is faster, either it plays the faster frequencies..higher frequiencies... well or not as loud. Le, inductance, is the main factor here... but a peaky high BL motor can enhance that as well.

From what I have read about the L5, others have had the same opinion. Well from your explanation, it seems the Q is going to do me well for musicality.

the Q should play flatter, wider, lower not as peaky/punchy/ coloring (distortion via adding to some of whats there and not reproducing other parts as much) as a BTL or BL.

the BTL and BL should be more "punchy" and "hard hitting" depending on the application/alignment, and the "q" should play lower, "muddy" and "undefined" depending on the alignment/application

ok. knowing that, how would the Q compare to an L5 or kicker CVR? I have owned both in the past so I know what they sound like.

I own 2 15Q, 2 12 cvr and heard and install a 12Q for a friend. The 15 plays the low with more authority compared to the 12 and definitely better than the L5 and the cvr. Sure it needs a big box and big port area but the lows are good (not as good as the brahma).

If you plan to power it with the zx750.1, I would suggest to port it on low 30s (mine is 30hz) to get some output.
