Default Alright What Would You Guys Do????
Alright so I've been thinking about switching it up again and I should have the funds to do so soon. Basically I am looking to go with a beastly 12 or 10 in a sixth, fourth, t-line or a horn of some sort. These are the options that I found while I have been digging around going to try and keep it at $325 or less will be starting on a saz-1500 and possibly going with more Power later goals are loud and low doesn't have to do great on the meter since seldom have access to one.

if you really want to throw power at it, the ns 12 is the way to go. the bl or the tc would do well on the current power.

Yeah I know the nightshades would take some serious power as would the Tantric additionally I would like something that I could match later just in case I wanted to go back to a dual woofer setup honestly I'm digging the tantric option just because they aren't as common as say Sundown or Fi.

P.S. The TC sub has been traded.

damn. that tc was a good sub. maybe send gar a message? he might have something custom sitting around. you have pretty much answered your own question, those two will take the most abuse out of your list, and both get low. if you want less mainstream, tantric is it, if not its a toss up

Yeah I was also curious if some weren't suited for certain boxes like maybe a NS wouldn't perform well in a 6th or Tantrics don't like bandpasses etc etc all the Sundowns would be harder to match since people are always going with different spiders in them.

one thing that concerns me is 15k burps on that tantric. that cant be easy on the sub. as to box preference they should both do well in higher order systems. i have heard the ns can be very peaky, which might have to be considered in the design. dont know a whole lot about the tantrics besides they are power houss

Well he did it with a pair so I'm guessing they weren't probably seeing 7k which would still cause some misgivings I suppose I could ask if it was still stiff if I decided to go that way. Is there any chance that a ZV3 would be less peaky if I could find one? I'm sure that with all the knowledgeable people on this forum we could iron out the peaks.

Was looking for incriminator too but couldn't find anything also I asked gar about reconing the DD with Sundown parts but he hasn't got back with me hence it's for sale.

Alright so after reading the whole sixth order thread on caco Car Audio Classifieds I think that I would be better off going with a 10" woofer than a 12. From what I'm reading if I went with a 1:2 ratio the box for a nsv1 12 would be around 1.75 rear 3.5 front which is 5.25 cubes before displacement which would likely result in using up around 6 cubes which is somewhat larger than I would like to go. Whereas I could do a nightshade ten or something similar on 1 or 1.25 rear and 2-2.5 front which would be much smaller around 3-3.75 before all the other stuff. So without knowing how they would model I still believe using a 10 would involve a smaller trunk sacrifice.

that enclosure seems pretty large. try running that through a model. don't forget you can always decrease volume size, which will increase cone control, reduce peakiness, and obviously save space.
