Default Side Mirrors fell off!!

ok guys, my side mirrors fell off just recently and i need some help to stop them from rattling in the future so my new ones stay on. what do you suggest? my vehicle is an 02 suburban, i have 4 10" 7500's powered by 1 hifonics [email protected] 1ohm, currently my system put out 144.7 @ 41hz on the floor outlaw. i need to keep this truck from rattling apart cuz i just got it at the begining of the year and i still have like 5 years of payments left on it. the doors currently have 2 layers of dynamat extreme but it isnt helping the flex at all. its got some nasty panel rattle from the outside, and the back vent things next to the back glass, and my sunroof and flip down rattle too if i have it turned up all the way. i dont really have time to work on it till spring comes around so i gotta make do with the hour or so i can squeeze at work everyday to keep it together. also does anyone know if those side mirrors are covered by the extended warranty i purchased for this thing? cuz the new drivers side is like 350 bucks just for the glass portion and that seems ridiculously high to me for just a little mirror.

the glass fell off the essembly i take it? as I know the actual housing didnt fall off. restick it with glass epoxy and you will be fine. it was probably not installed properly to begin with. happened to my corsica too.

that makes alot more sense. glass epoxy would work well, if the glass didnt break when it fell off. as far as the warrenty covering it... i kinda doubt it, but youd have to check with the warrenty company.

i don't think 4 10" 7500's compare to 4 18" Fi BTLs..
I don't see Meade's mirror's falling off..
Seems a weeeee bit fishy to me, attention craving anyone?

sorry bout the confusion, its the actuall glass that fell of on the driver side. they arent held on with glue, it has a circular track in the middle that has tabs that clip on the side of the track, there is two big clips on the ends that are broken also, the mirrors i have are heated, anti-glare and powered. but only the driver side, thats why that ones is $350, the other side was like $245. oh and if u want pics of the glass and the housing i can send them to you if any of you think im lying to get attention.

steve, were your mirrors the powered ones or just plain-o ones? cuz i dont really see myself replacing the Power ones everytime they break, and $50 bucks for glass is within reason to me.

mine are the powered and have that antiglare thing that makes it kinda green at nite when bright lights hit it. The part that breaks is right where you said, at the plastic tabs that grab onto that circle thing. they hang by the wires when it comes out and If i can stop fast enough when i see it happen then i can sometimes save it. When i say ive REPLACED my mirrors those are the ones where i was bumpin and goin to fast and watched it shatter on the street. There has been a few times where i was able to toss some CA glue on the tabs and pop it back in and save 50 bones.

Im sure it would be over 200 for the entire mirror but the glass itself isnt nearly as much......but 50 bucks still sucks.

man, i gotta find out who your parts guy is cuz mine is raping me on those mirrors!! i wish gm would have designed the rotating assembly a little better, cuz little tabs just seem cheesy to me. ive seen trailblazers with systems in them and the mirrors stay put! except for the rearview one folding down, but noone needs that one anyways. saving them is almost impossible as they come off and dangle when im on the freeway doin 85, although the first time the driver side came off i noticed it and i rolled the window down to hold on to it till i got home, just my luck it was 43 degrees and pouring down rain, so by the time i got home my hand was frozen but at least i was able to save the glass. u every try putting something around the housing to take up the gap so the mirrors cant rattle? like some closed cell foam or somthing?

Dude you just got some cheap azz mirrors. I have a set of 7500 also and they never broke my mirror inside. Now my Fosgates made my mirror fall, but re glued it and hasnt come donw yet.

Now Im not saying they didnt break your mirror, you just have a cheaply made mirror. Not bashing anything, I dont do that.

They are purrrty subs Ill admit that.

Well I have factory mirrors and there made of pot metal but its still
carnage. Cheap or not I break metal mirrors off my window with one
sub Ive also broken all the plastic clips that held on my
spoiler, and the third break light wont screw in, two of them were
lost in traffic.
