Default too close?

the space in the back of my jeep is pretty limited, an in order to put the second batt in the back, its gonna have to be between the tailgate and the box, just right of the port, but about 5 inces away from my amp(i can poast pics if anybody is confused). my question is, is there any danger in havin the second batt so close to the amp? everything will be strapped to the floor an nothing shifts around or anything. but should i make the +batt to the amp really short(cause the distance between them is about 5"), or should i leave a little slack. if theres no slack, then they will be connected esentialy by just a fuse.

Having the batt close to the amp is not a problem. However keep in mind the body of the amp is grounded internally so if the body of the amp touches the positive post of the battery it will short out.

i would leave a little wiggle room.

should be fine as long as nothing moves. I would cover the batterys with some sort of insulator. Just in case.
