so im having some issues here, i was going to replace my crappy 8 ga PowerWire with 4 ga. but 4 is way not flexible enough to fit where i need it to. so is it possible for me to get a grommet that will fit 2/0 and drill a hole through my firewall. it MUST be a tight fit, i dont like loose wires. if i did a run of 2/0 through the firewall could i put a distro block and split the 2/0 to two runs, one of 4 ga one of 8ga? i think that makes sense.
Of course it will work, but what kind of 4ga is it that it is less flexible than 2ga? Plus, the price of your materials is going to rise since you will have to buy 1/0 distribution accy's. Be sure to seal the hole with some silicone to keep the weather out...
the problem is where the hole is. i originally ran the Power wire through a preexisting hole in the firewall. the problem is where the firewall hole enters the cabin. right behind my air vents. not much room to work with, barely get my hand in there the reach the 8 ga. let alone the 4 ga. as soon as the wire is through the firewall the wire has to do a 90 strait down.
2/0 wire would be better to run than 4guage. but if you want some flexible wire try kicker hyperflex... its some good stuff. the 1/0 is more flexible than any 4 guage and most 8 guage wires that i have felt.
