Default Big 3

Quick question, I just finished 2/3 of the big 3 on my 2003 Mazda Protege ES. I used 2 gauge copper welding cable I had layin around in my shed. Now, I ran from my alt to my batt no problem, here's my question: My ground comes off the batt and goes about 6" to the strut tower where there is what seems to be a ground bus. At this point the Wire from the batt and another wire are crimped into the same connector and bolted to the ground bus. The second wire (I assume is the engine ground) then goes under the batt tray and feeds into a wire loom and is lost. So I ran my 2 gauge from the batt ground to the bolt on the ground bus, is this going to be enough, or do I need to chase that other wire thru the loom to find out where it terminates? The wire seems to be about 8 gauge. And I also removed the ground bus and sanded the paint away from where it connects to the strut tower, I figured it couldn't hurt. Oh, also I left all stock wire in place, just added my 2 gauge in with it. Any input is appreciated. Thank you.

well it sounds like its just a ground point for your cars computer and accessories now you will have to ground your engine to the chassis and you will be all done. it sounds fine how you are doing everything just finish.

So can I run my final Wire from this point to anywhere on the engine? Just as long as it completes the circuit? What I mean is I don't have to have it connected to the exact same spot as the factory ground on the engine, I can just find a bolt and use it?

Ok time for an update. Finally finished my big 3. Ran the last 2g welding cable from the chasis ground to the engine block. Also ran my 2/0 from the battery to the trunk. Ran it under the car, wrapped in loom, ziptied to the brake lines till the floor board right infront of the back seat. Drilled my hole and snuck it the rest of the way into the trunk under the back seat. Couldn't make it all the way to the trunk underneath cause the gas tank, frame, and spare tire well all cluster f@ck right there in one spot. But no harm done, it is covered good by the carpet for the first 6 inches then it is hidden by the back seat. This might seem like a small feat to some, but this is my first big 3 and first time running anything larger than chinese 0 gauge. So I am rather proud of myself. Small things to do, but trying to keep myself occupied till I get my AQ2200D and HDC3-12 at income tax time LOL.

PS Would post pics, but Digital Camera is scheduled for income tax also, LMAO! Will be posting pics of the Build at that time.
