Alright, Id run 4 gauge to the back. run a 4 gauge ground from the frame. split that off into 2 8 gauge runs, and run 8 gauge to where ever you have your sony amp....You want stuff clean maybe do a nice amp rack in the back to hold both amps? and then run maybe 14-18 gauge Wire from each channel up to the front, for your speakers. What id honestly do for your dash is run the wires right up into your dash behind your head unit and wire up to your stock speakers there. they already did the hard work of running the wires threw the dash to your dash speakers and threw your door to your door speakers.

Well first of all, I don't have any stock speakers.

Second, the front door and dash speakers are wired in together for some reason (good going, GMC factory)

So I have to somehow take the entire car apart to get to each speaker wire and wire them up with something bigger (already have a box of 10awg, might get another)

So to make it easy I was just going to unhook the door speakers for now and run the amp to the dash speakers.

Or maybe the other way around since the dash speakers are easier to get to.

I've already got the amps where I want them.

I think I'm gonna do it like you for a while and just run the 4awg down the inside of the vehicle for now so I have some tunez...

I put some ads on CL looking for help with doing this.

whats your location?

10 gauge is 100% over most people dont even run 10 gauge to there subs, 12 gauge is bigger then what you need.

then what id do is run the wires up into the dash and hook up to your dash speakers threw the stock wireing. and run new wires to your door speakers.

be nice if u can find where the speaker wire comes out of the doors at and just tap into it there.

Near Champaign IL

I just wanted to get over just to be safe. It's always better to get more, right?

Also, I've narrowed it down to someplace behind where the spedo and gas gauges are. That's where I think the dash and doors have been spliced together...

Would be real nice to run each wire separate with bigger awg and get rid of the stock wiring

yeah, bigger wire is better just cost more, harder to hide. think about it like this, your running 8 gauge into the amp. your running 4 10 gauge wires out.....if u was running 1 gauge into the amp that would be more normal. U understand what im saying? what your doing is totaly fine just more then what you need.

Yeah I guess so. I just wanted to future proof it. But it was mainly for the sub...people were telling me to use a bit bigger than 12awg.

But I've made some progress.

The grommet that goes into the drivers side foot area was for the rear wind shield wiper.

It doesn't work anyway (dad said it clogs and needs to be air-hosed periodically)

When I pulled hard enough, the liquid started pooring out and I freaked for a little bit.

Then I went into the engine and saw it was connected to the wiper fluid box and was releaved.

Is this grommet easily available?

It seems that the grommet itself is what was holding the other side in.

I'm sure I can just get some copper connector from home depot though.

Also, the 4awg wire actually fits in the door trim great!

Here is the grommet.

Going to hollow it out just enough to fit the 4awg.

Also here is the 4awg inside of it.
