Default Need battery help

Anyone know if the sticky http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/ac...al-system.html is still an accurate way to determine draw or should I be doing something else?

I know I need a battery. The lower the bass, the lower my voltage drops. I am getting down to 12.3 at idle. At idle, I am getting 14.3 with out stereo on. Stock 115a alt.

I also would like some headroom to move to either two 1200d's or one 2200 or comparable size amp, but right now I am not even meeting my one 1200'd. If the above thread is still correct I am drawing 97 amps. I am not a 100% on that as the specs for the 1200d don't have rms and max, so I took 1200 @ 1% and [email protected] 5%. If I am on crack please help.

Second part, once I figure out what amp battery I need to get, where and which ones? Any advice there would be good as well. Cost effectiveness always being an issue.

100ah for every 1000watts .....that way it will give you a reserve....go to carquest...and look for extreme ngt's....115 bucks a pop it will tell you how many ah (amp Hours) it has on the top....get one for your stock location and maybe 2 in the back...depending on if you run 2 1200's i know the smaller batteries are like 45 to 55ah each....and the ngt65 is 75ah....

well that link is about as close as you are going to get with out actually hooking up a dmm and seeing what your Car pulls and what your alt will put out. and if you get a bigger alt you should have no problems with 2k rms with 100 ah. i had a 220a alt with 2 AQ2200D'S strapped and about 200 ah of battery and my voltage barely budged.

Perfect. Thanks guys. I had heard about carquest and napa having good batteries. Someone said they even carried Deka for a good price, but these NGE's seem to fit my need and pocket book perfect.

the carquest xtreme ngt's are relabeled deka intimidators, but they are fare from $115.00
the last one I bought for myself was almost a year ago, and it was just a wee bit under $200.00, unless they lowered prices which is doubtful...

The lulz, 180 bahaha

You need to be looking at batts with 900+ cca

Also have you done your big three yet? If not I highly suggest you do. You honestly shouldn't be dropping that much unless you got a chit battery

just cause they work there dosent mean they know anything. to most its just a job and not something they enjoy or do on their spare time. i know more than most people at some auto part stores and i am no mechanic.

Is there one better for Car stereo applications than another or just preference and fitment into car? Do you happen to know which are 100amp and 200amp? I went to car quest site and was less than helpful.

Why is no one suggesting real brands like north star/ xs Power / kinetik / shuriken?

My vote is for a skbt100.
