Default Big Build...What kind of electrical?

Looking to put 2 18" sp4's walled off into a jeep. This would be a total of 5000 rms.

Haven't decided on an amp yet. Should i go with one or two?

What kind of alternator should i get how big?

Batteries how do i determine how many would be a good bank and also what brand. I hate having to spend more on the electrical than the system. Anyone know of some good deals?

Multiple strands of 0 gauge? Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated.

abuot a 300amp HO alt , battery, not sure and amps, if you can find something that does 5k do it, youll need less Wire then running two 2500s , but the brz2400 is a good price lol

runs of 0 depend on what you do

As a general estimate, you're looking at around 500 ah. 300 a alternator leaves you with 200 ah worth of batteries. The brz 2400s would definitely work, and each amp would get a run of 0 or 1/0

Default Re: Big Build...What kind of electrical?

5k i would get the biggest alt you can find(likely around 300) and 2 group 31 size batts in the back.

i would do 3 runs of 1/0 2 + and 1 ground. then do 2 chassis grounds up front and 2 in the rear @ your batts.

Default Re: Big Build...What kind of electrical?

Any recommendations on brand of batteries and how many would create a nice battery bank? Do I need like 8 or is 3 or 4 enough?

Also Mechman or Irragi or anywhere else for the H/O alternator?

Recommendation on 1/0 gauge wire....whats the best bang for the buck?

Whats your thoughts on the Stetsom 7k amp? Sundown, AQ, Rockford, any others?

Default Re: Big Build...What kind of electrical?

stay away from stetsom, sundown and aq are both great,
batterys , depends on the aH of the ones you look at like cx said , youll need about 200ah in batt. so

SHURiKEN SK-BT100 (SKBT100) 2250 Amp 12V Car Battery Power Cell

two of those are your set on batteries

mechman are supposed to be good.. i thought i herd irragi went under/something :s dont quote tho.. contact nate at Excessive Amperage, he can Build you an alt as well

Another thought....

12volt 14volt or 16 volt batteries. What would be the advantage to a 14 or 16 volt battery? would you have to wire up the alternator different to produce at 16 volts?

12 and 14 are the same , 16 you will need a h.o alt to benifite from it, and you'd need amps that run at 16 volts

Aq 3500 does 5k when u feed it a 16v breakfast, just a thought. Or wire it to .5 ohm. Couple of brzs might be around the same price as 1 aq3500 tho

12 and 14v are not the same.

14v batts need to charge at 16.8 volts, 16v batts need charged at 19.2v, and 12v batts at 14.4

i would go 16v and maybe a crescendo,aq, or sundown 3500

I couldn't afford an alternator so got a XS Power D3400 battery to run with my factory battery and had 2-18" RE Audio SX subs on a SAZ 3500 D and with my truck running held about 14.3 volts it didn't drop below 12 volts. Thats also with out a Big 3 witch will be installed with my new set up.

So Singeralternators have a good rep?

He tells me "Hello Nick
At the moment I do not carry brackets but I do offer a unit that is a 300a for your vehicle. The 300a unit is almost a direct bolt on other then one of the mount ears (I upgrade the case for the 5.2L). One of the mounts does not clear by about one inch so you can make a little shackle that will hold the ear in place (two small pieces of aluminum and a bolt would even work). This unit is 439 shipped with my lifetime warranty on all labor.
-mike"

Also I checked out DC Audio Amps. shipped to my address 5.0kw $1480 9.0kw $2300. Little more than what I would like to spend but they looked real NICE! Bummer : (

What about a SAZ-4500?

Also just fyi.
Ive got 2 15" RF T2's (silver edition) d2's. Anyone interested or had any luck with posting on here? Ive had 3 no shows now on craigslist and i would like to see them gone. originally wanted $900 now asking $700 open to trades

well crescendo is the cheapest, as there an online only company that doesn't build dealer overhead into there prices.

singer is fairly new but the only problems i've seen thus far is mis-communications between his reps... so buy from him directly using the website and all will be good.

his units definately do there power.
