Default Charging ?

I have 4 xs Power d3100 made to charge at 14 v I'm getting a external regulator added to my alt so what happins if I turn my voltage up past 14v ! Like if I'm doing a demo and my voltage drops so I turn it up and when the bass stops its over 14v ! I'm not talking 100% of the time ! I don't want to ruin my battery's

most batteries that are 12v as in 12.6 resting can take 14.5 to 15 fine. Over that for extended periods of time is what can damage batteries. For a couple minute demo it won't hurt to crank it to 15-15.5 especially if you are full tilt and voltage will be down to 14s 13s from there.

15.0v is fine. hell my Car has a agm batt stock and the stock alt goes above 15v cold from time to time.

as long as its not constantly over 15v you should be just fine.

That's a waste. Run both at 16 and use a step down module.

^^^ This pretty much. You're defeating the purpose of adding an alt, which is to gain more amperage. The best option would be to run multiple 16v alts to your batteries with a step down between the front battery and your cars 12v system.

Or I can run a kinetic 16/12v battery ! I just thought it would be Easter to run 2 alts since I have a 12v alt and a external regulated excessive amp alt and a bracket to run 2 alts

Meh I have heard the 12/16 kinetiks suck and die easily. I would just run a good 12 volt battery after the step down module and get all d1600s. Or a similar 16 volt battery. Another 16 volt Alt will make a huge difference.

The xs power module seems to be popular.

Don't know who else makes em.
