Default Alt good enough?

I'm getting two AA 18" Mayhems and either an AQ3500.1d or a Crescendo bc5500, with two runs of both pos and neg, and 2 xs d3400 one up front and one in back. Is a 220 amp tenney alt good enough? It will put out about 120 amp at idle

well larger than 220a would help, but not necessary.

however you likely will need at least one more batt, 2 if you go with the 5500

if there is no larger alt option i would just install it and see how your voltage holds up.

Agreed with Pro. Through my research I found that if you going to replace your stock alt you might as well get the biggest you can (never hurts) that fits within you budget and application.

The 220A will work but (for the 5500) you will need to supplement batteries to assist... But keeping in mind to make sure voltage stays up, battery levels, etc... Especially before playing hard

The 220 and the two batteries should do.

You could probably go bigger than 220 if you are handy with metal and good at fabrication.

220 amp should Power the 3500 at 1 ohm fine with rise. at .5 or 1 ohm on the 5500 will need some battery backup for sure. I would do a 3400 up front and a 3100 in the back personally.

Thanks guys and yeah sintor Im actually getting a tenney alt, and 220 was the biggest one without any metal work. And btw do i need to overcharge the 3400? I saw someone saying they did not too long ago, that it helps it.
