they can keep the cca wire. junk..
for that price of ofc I can get 1.5% more ft per cost with welding cable and only lose 1% in continuity.

if aluminum is good why clad it with copper..because its not.....but current runs out side of strands.. no it dont... if it did cca would have the same thermo ratings per ft.

I would putt 2 gauge cca as the same as 4 gauge copper..ofc or not. is what im saying.

no **** sherlock. they have different conductivities. Look at the cost benefit though. it has 65% the conductivity, and is 50% the price. By no definition does that make it junk

From last I knew, we didnt use all aluminum because it had a lot of issues with the environment. AKA, expands and retracts badly with temperature. Also oxidation would be an issue with aluminum.

thermal expansion coefficient(in micro meters per meter of cable per kelvin) of copper is 16.6 vs 22 for aluminum. for a 5m(16.5ft) copper cable in your car, you are looking at .8cm of change going from 0 to 100C (32-212F for you non metric people), .3cm or so for a 0-40C change (32-104F). for the same cable in aluminum, its 1.1 cm and .4 cm.

could this matter for a hyper sensitive circuit in a jet fighter? absolutely. does it matter in a car? absolutely not.

nailed it.

as far as corrosion goes, cca is copper on the outside, so is welding wire making their corrosion resistance IDENTICAL. take that argument to the grave.

you don't seem to grasp the concept.

So since you wanna talk about amps well do that

ofc = 10kw amp for 1,000$

cca = 6500w amp for 500$

i think i'll take a pair of the 6500's

I do understand. the amp thing was just play.
I would rather just do one run. and be done. not saying im to lazy to do two runs...wait yes I am. lol... im not a fan of cca. and when I can get welding cable for a buck more than cca. then ill choose welding cable.

now I wanna talk about ponys

Default Re: SkyHigh Audio 2/0 is in stock !!!

nothing wrong with cca. nothing junk about it. it gets the job done half the price. i would take cca over ofc just cause of price. i can do 2 runs of cca for the same price as 1 of ofc and the cca would net more more power handling.

If you tin cca or ofc, corrosion resistance goes way up. Two Runs of CCA will be cheaper than than one run of ofc and carry 150-200a more current. If not more. If you have the room for multiple runs, why not go cheaper? I still run ofc to my amps though.

Also on the whole expansion bs, the jacket will condense and expand more than the wire.

Your argument is pathetic at best
