Default Best battery for the money?....

Hi all I'm loving this site. You are all very helpful. You are all straight forward and honest. Loving it!

Im going to buy two batteries for my system and wondering what's good?

Ive heard a lot of Sears Platinum. Also Duracell Agm line. Im guessing as long as its a decent size agm? No need to pay for the high priced Kinetik....

Imo batteries aren't something you want to cheap out on. Northstar batteries is all I recommend. Shuriken performs well too.

Its ok to go cheap on batteries as long as you get a warranty....the beautiful thing about getting batteries at autozone or any other parts store if the warranty

So. Theres a big difference between cheap. And affordable quality.
Boss amps are cheap
Highfonics are affordable quality
Sundown is expensive

Im looking for that affordable quality. A good agm at a fair price.

Honestly if I were you I would go with northstar batteries. they can be found cheap and from the research I have did they are comparable to xs Power if not better. one nsb170 I hear is comparable to 3 d3100's

i do not know but from what it seems their batteries seem to be what you could say over built. i am looking at buying 2 of the nsb-170's to Power my stetsom 10k from what i have researched that is all i will need. i will have my 250 amp alt just for the stetsom 10k.

that nsb40fft seem 2 be a over built 40ah battery............The NSB40FT silver will support a load of 3.8 amps for 10
hours to an end point voltage of 10.8 volts. (3.8*10= 38 Amp
hours). At the 1 hour rate, the NSB40FT silver will support a load of
28.5 amps for 1 hour to an end point voltage of 10.5 volts
(28.5*1=28.5 Amp hours). The short circuit current is the load in Amps that will drive the
terminal voltage to zero

It's common for batteries to list 20 hr ratings not 10. Keep that in mind when comparing.

And I don't know where you got that last part but even with a dead short on a battery you will not drop to 0 volts immediately. Unless you mean over time. But you won't get to 0 before the battery has serious issues I'd imagine.

Anyways can't go wrong witb any nsb.
