I'm looking for a high output alternator for a 97 Honda accord lx as close to 350-400a as I can get. I've been looking around but I can't find one. Any body know where I can get one from?
Thanks
you tried mechman or singer alternators?...and you do realize that with a super high amper age alt your going to have rev like crazy to get output from the alt....its not going to do very good at idle

Yea I checked mechman but no luck should I be looking into smaller alt and Build a little battery bank? I'm not going to be listening at full volume only turning it up to meter or to show off. I planning on a ns-1 and a pair of z v.4s. But my e-15s will be living in the back until I have funds for bigger toys. I'm just starting with building up the electrical first.

lol your going to need a large battery bank with at least 1 270+alternator at least 5 or 6 batteries...cuz a ns1 is around 8k rms

with a 270+ amp alt 3 or 4 batteries (depending on size).....and you do realize that the zv4's dont like the upper frequencies and are only good on lows right

Okay, and yup, that's why I have my eyes set on them. Correct me if I'm wrong but this would make them a bit more musical and flat and therefore easier to blend into my mids.
no...the zv4's struggle on any note above 55hz in most aplications....and most mids and highs dont pick up that low really good

An easy way to do it is to get a GM one Wire alt and make a bracket it for it. Self-starting. I forgot the word for it, but it's common on honda's. And those large case GM alts are easy to come by.

Oh I had no idea, I just thought that they were a bit more focused on SQ. How about the nsv3s? Im open to other brands but I've just had alotta good experience with their drivers. And your saying if I buy a gm alt that I'll be able to rig it to fit? I have a drill press and I can weld so I mean making a bracket wouldn't be to difficult, I'd just wanna make sure it's reliable, after all this is my dad so if my bracket has an epic fail then I could be stuck on the road.
The new sundown drivers are great on the lows with stock parts but Struggle on the upper frequencies.... I'm not sure but the nightshade be that way to cuz its more SPL oriented...so you need a sub that can handle 3k+ rms and be musical?...a single sub or a pair?

Yup, that's what I'm looking for, basically a system built around sound quality but still can make me smile when I turn it up. And I could do a pair or a single I'm not dead set on anything, Im building electrical first then buying an amp and then buying drivers. So I have a while to keep looking before I take the plunge.
Check out psi platform 3 for a single sub and platform 2 for dual sub's they will both sound great on music as well as pound when needed...the platform 3 will handle 3k+ and the platform 2 are good 1500rms sub's but can handle more....you won't be disapointed

P3s look great, better suited for my price range, so back to why I started this, what's my best bet for electrical. I'm in college and most of my $ goes to bills so what's the most economical way to provide safe power for a aq3500?

You planning on buying the 3500 might as well go bazillian get a taramps 3k that does 3.5k for 500 shipped instead of 800 for the 3500

Getting closer into my price range of what i have now without having to save up much. What about ab amps? Heard they're same boards as massive audio. Do they do rated? And are they known for any problems?

And Yea I was looking at a bootlegged fake site... I looked on fleabay and saw real prices about an hour ago. And has anyone had experience with larger taramps? I've read mixed thing about them? And I emailed singer, thinking a lot about the whole bracket situation and its sounding better and better after not being able to find diddly squat for my 97 accord,
Imma see what singer says and then I guess i might get to rigging up another alt if singer has none for my car. I mean mechman makes one for a 98.. Just not a 97 and I feel like if it would fit my car then they'd include my year..... Not trying to make a 4-700$ mistake.
Taramps are good bro just got to have the electrical to run them
