alright..lets see if someone can help me..heres what i have in order..battery, 6inches of 4 gauge then a 80 amp fuse.. then about 12 more feet of 4 gauge Wire going to a distrubution block..2 runs of 4 gauge coming out of it one going to the amp which is a Type rf x5.c the other run going to a 1.5 farad cap...the cap is grounded but everytime i try to ground the amp it just sparks and i blew another fuse at the battery..whats causeing this..i checked all the wire and there are no shorts..for each ground i have more runs of 4 gauge..all wiring is brand new so is the amp and cap..wtf is the problem..i know youre supposed to hook Power up first then the ground and it worked fine for the cap no sparks but when i try to groung the amp it just sparks and blows fuses..both said items are brand new so there is no returning problems but what would usually cause this.
honestly i would like true responses and not someone saying well youre first problem if you got RF..if you have nothing good to say dont say nething at all
How about you hook it up like the way I showed when I spent 30 min with you on Yahoo? If you reverse the polarity on the amp you will blow fuses. That is if you run the +12v to the ground terminal on the amp and vise versa. Jon do you have a multimeter? If you think the amp maybe causing a problem take a multimeter and measure the resistance between the 12V+ and ground terminals on the amp with all wiring disconnected. The reading should be fairly high. If its low like below 5 ohms you have a problem with the amp.
