how to use volt meter

I want to use the output voltage calculator or whatever, to set my gains. I just don't know how to use this multi meter. What do I set it to?

what model/brand volt meter do you have?

in general, if you want to measuer the output voltage from you amp, you have to set you dmm to measure ac voltage. if your dmm is not automatic, be sure to select a volt range that's adequate for your measurement.

Re: how to use volt meter

well i got the same problem except i know how to read mine but its just showing a -00.1 @200v ac setting. then only one that will read any significant voltage is at 200mv ac setting and 200v dc setting. sry to jack the thread.

also to try and help you out tahoe if yours is switchable (like a turnable knob in the middle) and you have 2 V's on each side the one with the wavy line is DC and the one with the straight line with dots under it is AC now if you have one with just the VU meter i have no idea what to tell ya
