Default amp hook up to stock stereo

Im doing an install on a 07 camry. It has the 8 Speaker system in it from the factory and no amp for them. Im hooking up a single twelve and i got the converter to use the speaker wires as RCAs and i dont know how to hook up the remote wire. It needs a 12V source but i cant figure out how to ground it or make it turn on the amp. Any suggestions would help and do i hook up both the right and left speaker for the one sub or would it matter?

Some converters have a remote out. If it doesn't, hook it up to ignition so that the amp comes on when you have the key on.

I just did a similiar install on my 05 Lincoln Ls..My Line out converter didnt have a remote out..,.. I just spliced into the stock radios Power line so when the radio would turn on so would the amp.. also you do not need a ground for a remote wire.. just a 12v lead to the amp that turn on and off with ign.

All of the above are great ways to do it.
I personally vote with the 12v power lead that turns on the factory CD player.
Make sure its the switched power and not the constant power, otherwise your amp will stay on even with the Car off.

or for a few more bucks, get the MTX reQ. will give you a remote wire to tap into the amp, and there is a decent amount of adjustability with it.
