Default Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D

so i decided im getting a hdc3 but my 900 rms from my current zx750.1 just doesn't seem enough for me so i was looking for amps and came across
Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D anyone have any input on these. or a link to some benchmarks, they say its cea compliant at 14.4volts.

you could put 1kwrms to a sdc2.5 if all your upgrading is from 900 upto 1200 i would just keep the 900 and go with the sdc2.5, save up your money for a 2kwrms amp to run a hdc3. just my opinion. or if your set on the hdc3 i would just run the 900 to it until you can get a 2k amp and supply it with enough power.

the hifonics looked real solid for the price(240 shipped) but that is true that the aq is only 9 more i will just have to grab that then

oh yea...see my saturn is very hard to upgrade the alt on, i would have to custom make a mount to hold the new alt then find a belt that would fit(im a member on a saturn forum and heard how much work that is to do) so the highest Power i think ill make my Car put out is 1200 rms that way i can avoid upgrading the alt, though i think im getting a second battery, with my kicker when pushing 900 rms with a test tone my voltage drops from 14.2 volts(normal idle) to 14.1 so i think im ok to go up 300 rms

Default Re: Hifonics Brutus BRZ1200.1D

if your worried about it get an amp that makes Power at 2ohms or 4ohms as class D are more efficient there then 1ohm

Most cars can run more than 1200watts, like 1500-2000rms and be ok with stock alt depending if its over 100amp or less

I either find an amp like I mention above or get a MB quart DSC 1500 for $210

you can get up around 2kwrms with a stock alt as long as you get a good solid second batt. also never run stereo on batt alone, always have car running, and make sure you give your alt plenty of time to charge the battery. ie dont run it full tilt every time you have your car on. just do the big 3 in 1/0awg, and 2 runs of 1/0 front to rear in your car, 1 + and 1 -.
