hfi and bxi might be subjective but i didn't like the cheapness of the hfi so i put it last

I owned the BXi2010 and now I have the BRZ1700.1 and it pushes my subs alot better than the BXi did. Plus it barely gets warm and the BXi used to get very hot. Both amps were running at 2ohms

i havn't heard of the bxi running hot, you may have had bad connections, or bad electrical, or maybe a faulty amp.

I think it was a faulty amp. It worked well for about 4 months, then started to run hot. I double checked all my connections and they were good. Then one day the BXi went into protect. I sent it in and was to it was the DC protection that caused it. I was giving store credit and ended up getting the BRZ1700.1. Im alot happier w/ this amp. It is louder to the ear than the BXi was even when it was working fine. Now I still think the BXi was a good amp, but IMO the BRZ's perform better.
