Default strange remote wire question

when i hook it up to a 12 volt soure it wont turn on so i unplugged it then i jumped it to the Power Wire still nothing, but when i have the 12 volt source and it jumped to the power it will turn on but after it does turn on it sounds like its at half power any ideas and it cuts out when the bass hits hard. its a pioneer premier 1100 watt hooked to a re sxx if that matters.

Remote switch needs 14V.

it will turn on with even less than that on most amps... Sounds like something is messed up internally. Does it protect often?

checked your fuse on your Power wire?

sounds like you just don't have 12v power on the amp input to me, if it will turn on when you jump an external 12v power to the amps + lead.

may want to invest in a dmm and start reading what the voltage is at the terminals.

Ok so I got a little mixed up with your original statement. It only turns on when you have 12 volts to both the power and remote lugs correct?

1: Your power wire has no power running through it
2: Your remote wire has no power unning through it

One of those 2. And if your remote wire is the only one running power through it then when it turns on it wouldn't have enough juice to make any kind of power.

As pro said get a meter and start reading what you have on all of your sources.

Maybe a blown fuse on the main line and so option 1.
