Default Any other options?

I just picked up a pair of alpine type-s10 but I made the mistake of getting the duel 2 ohm. I'm powering with an audiopipe 1501d @ 2 ohms and this amp just doesn't do them justice. I decided to run the amp at .5 ohms (yup I went and did it) and these subs sing in a crapy prefab box (already made design and new box Build will be on its way).

I don't expect the amp to last very long so I'm shopping for a 1000-1200 watt amp @ 2 ohms.
I am looking at this so far......

Alpine MRX-M110 *1100W Class D Monoblock X-Power Series Car audio Amplifier* at Onlinecarstereo.com

Do I have any other options? I would like a cool and efficient amp that will put out the power the subs want. Thanks.

Honestly, I'd say your best option is to sell everything you've bought and start over. A couple Sundown E10's on a MBQ1000 would own those Alpines.

or if you do not have the money keep the gain down. make sure the amp you have does not get hot and it should last.

Prefab box means you probably have a ton of rise and you probably wont hurt that amp. Run it there till (if) it pops

Hifonics BRX2000.1D 2000W RMS Class-D Monoblock Brutus Series Amp
Hifonics BRX2400.1D Brutus 2400W RMS Class-D Monoblock Amplifier

I'd go with either of these plenty of power at 2 ohms and if you decide to drop your impedance later on then it will work at 1 ohm as well they're both close to your budget as well.

This is exactly what I'm doing now. The amp is doing well, no over heating or cutting out. I just ordered 1/0 guage wire to upgrade from the 4 guage I'm running now. I ordered enough to go from battery to distribution Block and to redo the big 3 from 4 to 1/0 guage.

If I'm lucky the amp will stay happy and I won't need to shop for another.

Yea under normal circumstances most of the non-mainstream amps can be run at .5 ohm in a normal box. If you start using larges boxes or large port area or spending a lot of time making the box more efficient the u may have some problems

Today I built a new box and the sups are wired down to 2ohms again. Just to see what they will sound like. I'll post up in the enclosure section in a few.

The new wire came in today. Nice and flexible. I was not expecting the wire to be so soft.
