rd lied to me to make a sale.

they calined that the rd 2200.1d made 1800 watts rms at 1.4 ohms when it doens't even make 1700 rms at 1 ohm at 14.4. then i was told to run an 8 volt signal to get a "100-200 watts more" out of it. then i was told that i wouldn't even do rated power, yet i don't know about this. then he states it does 1700 at 12.5 when evan staed 1700 at 14.4. what the hell?? i feel like i was lied to to get a quick sale. +1 for rd audio.

Quote:

1700 is what guys have got on 12.5 volts. If you want to drive the amp to its fullest do .75 ohms and keep the voltage over 14.4 and the amp will put 2200 out.
1.0 and 1.4 is not much of a diffrence. say my 3250 at 1.0 we got 3600 out of it and at 1.35 ohm how i have it now i get about 3475.
As long as you have 14.4 you will be getting 1600 to 1800 watts @ 1.4 unless you have a huge impedance rise in you box but other wise your good.
Another way to get another 100 to 200 watts out of the amp is to send a 8 volt signal through the rca's.

what is your number? i can give you a few pointers to get close to 2k @ 1.4 ohms

Quote:

And that's what i don't understand because if it's doing 1700 and 1 ohm, then how is it doing 1600-1800 at 1.4??
Quote:

I told you before hand the amp will produce 1600 to 1800 @ 1.4 ohms @ 14.4 i see that you quoted it.

Quote:

So why is it posted on the site as 2200 rms and i was lead to believe it was 220 rms??

Quote:

we upgraded this amp to make it more powerfull the 2200 is around 1700 1800 watts. Our new 1750.1 will do 2k @ 14.4

Quote:

ok so here is my question i have found three conflicting rms rating for the 2200.1d
here it is 1700 rms at 1 ohm at 14.4

Here it is 2200 rms at 1 ohm

and you yourself said at 1.4 ohms it would be 1600-1800 at 1.4 at 14.4

so what is the right rating??

Quote:

QUOTE
no problem it will get the job done at 14.4volts

QUOTE
Oops, I didn't tell you what impedance i need the 1800 watts. i need 1600-1800 rms an 1.4 ohms.

QUOTE
As long as its shipping to the USA it will be 315.00 to 320.00
it will go to 1/2 an ohm for short periods. But it will do 1700-1800 depending on voltage.
let me know

QUOTE
I just blew my amp by my own, shall we say stupidity. What I'm looking for is if this amp will drop to 0.5 ohms with a 120 amp alt and an extra battery. if not i really just need about 1800 watts rms for a daily driver. if this will fit my needs i'll possibly buy one of the $299 amps shipped to 85248. thank you. --Jeremy.

on another note...that blows dude....hopefully you get everything worked out

abmw735ie32 10-07-2007 11:17 AM

ewww lol
i know where not to get my audio now lol, jl and now rd lmao

hillbillyinohio 10-07-2007 11:26 AM

ouchies

almond 10-07-2007 11:27 AM

yeah got everything worked out fine, sold it for $25 less than i paid bought a dd m1 (that was underrated) then bought the d300hc (and we all know how stout this is.) that amp would havebeen great had i wanted or bought a 1500 watt rms amp, but i bought a 2200 rms amp. even slightly overrated still expected about 1800 out of it at least. oh well. i'm not bashing the amp, just the company and their business ethics.

almond 10-07-2007 11:27 AM

along with the several pms from both steve and evan about selling me amps and subs.

Ambios 10-07-2007 11:38 AM

you know what sucks? i bought one too thinking that it was 2200 rms from revots on ca.com he told me it did every bit of 2200 on 14 volts so i said sure ill get around 2000. even if i sell this for what i payed 300 i wont be able to afford a bigger amp :( this is ****ing gay

visitor 10-07-2007 11:55 AM

sorry to hear this guys:(

tony 10-07-2007 11:57 AM

I'd still rather buy the real atomic.

almond 10-07-2007 12:00 PM

i wouldn't bring atomic into this, alot of companies use those boards, including sundown and incriminator. so thinking you're buying "the real" atomic is not relevant.

well neither is this entire thread. I just felt like being a dick.

Every company will fib to make a sale. Its that simple. If you dont have enough of a functioning brain to figure that out then you should just quit life.

*sigh*

*slowly equips Mod Suit*

I'll be watching over this thread so keep the e-war/PEOPLE bashing down

12voltz+- 10-07-2007 12:08 PM

sryy to hear about this guys, this isn't the first time either is it??

lilmaniac2 10-07-2007 12:09 PM

FYI sundown doesnt use that board.

back to your regularly scheduled bashing

that's not the problem. i have yet to see jacob, nick, or the entire fi team to lie to someone to make a sale. i understand that, i just felt that i could trust him that's all.

and while sundown doesn't use this board in particular they do use xenon boars which are the same boards that atomic and IA use. :) but i get what you were sayin Chad.

DBDesignsElite 10-07-2007 12:14 PM

Im sorry to hear that Almond.... No bashing here.... Every company will do the same thing at least once in its life span.... Maybe they will use this and relist the actual power spec on the amp including the rest of the line..... I dunno RD i have never used any of their products.... But i do know from talking to a few of the people on here including other forums that they do tend to lie about things.... Like time frames on subwoofers Etc... But hey.... Ya live and ya learn....

mjf595 10-07-2007 12:15 PM

also a reason they discontinued that amp im sure......

almond 10-07-2007 12:16 PM

i was very happy with the amp, had i bought a 1500 or 1200 even watt amp i would have been ecstaic, but getting the run around and being told several contradicting figures just irritated me.

almond 10-07-2007 12:17 PM

what i don't understand is "hey this amp doesn't do 2200 rms but does 1700 rms" then why the hell would you label it 2200 rms and bump the figures up. this isn't hifonics

just wanted to make the issue a little more clear.

almond 10-07-2007 12:24 PM

awsome, glad they were cleared out at a reduced cost and discontinued, why was i lied to?

Lol, you are a liar at best, I am not even going to address this any further after this. I told Almond on the phone what the amplifier did for power. Because of the amplifier not doing rated power we never put the amplifier into production, and sold them off @ 300 or so per that was 60 some % off. He was all on the amplifier talking how good it was . lAlmond told me as long as the amplifier did 1500-1600w @ 1.4 ohms it was good to go. Look over on splbassx how he was saying the amplifier was running strong and such.
By our testing the 2200.1 did roughly 1825w rms @ 1 @ 14.4v but it was well short of the 2200 so we canceled the amplifier and blew them out, at 1.4 oms i am sure the amplifier did do 1600-1700w.

Read what you wrote because the amplifier did do 2k+ @ .75 ohms @ 14.4v
It did do 1600+ @ 1.4ohm @ 14.4 So what are you saying? 299.00 man that was less than dealer cost so again what are you saying?

that's awsome customer service right there

Ambios 10-07-2007 12:38 PM

this thread is making me wish i did not buy this amp..

my alphas apparently can handle 2000 a piece and if my amp will only put out 1500 not the 2200 i though and was kinda of told by the old rdaudio page that it WOULD put out 2200 http://www.rdaudio.net/amps/rd2200.php
says nothing about 17v so i figured 14.4?
so my 2000 watt rms subs are going to get 750 a piece IF IM LUCKY damnit

almond 10-07-2007 12:39 PM

they don't care. the amp was discontinued at a discount price, that's a killer deal to them. lol.

:FYI: sundown does use zenon. that is what he was referring to.
