Default Bass race & db drag for a newbie

Hey I'm hoping to enter my first bass comp next weekend, there will be bass race and db drag, I think I've got the idea behind bass race down and think it would be a ideal comp for me to enter considering different db class's. however I'm not totally sure about db drag and with my current setup if it would be worth the money to enter. ( setup is in sig)

I have a spare box that I want to alter for high output but not sure on how much port area I need and what frequency to tune to. The box is currently a slot port, that I'm going to hack off and add a 4" aero port. Friend of mine said to port outside of the box and invert sub, does that seem like the route I should take? Seems reasonable to maintain box volume.

Also am I allowed to have my rear seats folded down? I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to open windows and that Car cannot be running for bass race but not sure for db drag.

Looking for any and all tips or tricks, do's and don'ts that will help me. I know your vehicle resonance frequency play a big part on where you should tune box to but I'm just looking to have fun and see what my system is capable of. I've only been to one bass comp and spent most of my time time drooling over other people stuff!

Please help a brother out!

Amp and sub are both in trunk and I only have stock agm battery

you've got it all messed up haha.

db drag and bassrace the back seats can be down. all db drag requires all windows up doors closed, including bassrace.

bassrace your vehicle is on unless you tie someone twice, then you have to shut the Car off. if you tie 3 times you have to run outside of the vehicle.

if you haven't bassraced before i wouldn't worry about tying.

in qualifying you can redlight/breakout. its a 30 second average. best songs are juice box for 36hz, thug motivation from young jeezy for 42hz and push that - lil john for 44-45hz. i always use thug motivation.

you want to have it paused about 1/2 a second into the bassline of the song. unpause at the absolute latest when you see go, know how long your unpause takes. if it takes a second then you want to unpause the second you see set on the display. maybe even when it goes to ready.

know that your score is MUCH harder to move the farther into the run you go. in the first 15 seconds CLIMB HARD to get in the 129.0 region. With your setup you wont be doing the 139.9 class.

as far as db drag, if you wanna know your peak spl go for it.

Thanks for that info. Very helpful bass race I thought was just loudest you could go within the 30 seconds, not an average so that deffinitly has me rethinking song choices! I was also already thinking about db drag to just see how loud I could get.
