Default Finally going to build a box, and need suggestions

Ok, I am building a box this weekend, and I know what I want to do, but wanted to get some suggestions before I actually Build it. I am planning on building a 3.5-4cu ft box (need suggestions on size) tuned to about 30hz. The Speaker is an Audiobahn Eternal (for now, going to upgrade, and PLEASE no sh*t talking about Audiobahn, find another thread for that.) I am planning on building the enclosure out of Birchwood, and am using 2 ports that I have already which are 2 4in ports. Has anyone built a box for an Eternal? so recap:
3.5 - 4cu ft
tuned around 30hz via 2 4in ports
Audiobahn Eternal
No wider than 35in
no taller than 16in
deep doesnt matter, well no deeper than 40in

I look forward to any suggestions. And this is going to be a DD, but I want some good lows.

If its a 12 id go for like 2.5ft3 @ 33-35hz if its a 15 then like 4ft3 @ 33-35hz. Anything in tht range should get pretty loud and kill the lows.

This would work good for the 15..... 35"W x 16"H x 17.5"D using 2 4" aeros
4ft3 @ 34hz w/ each aero 12.75" long(after sub/port displacement)

It is a 12, and I have it in a prefab X Scorpion enclosure that is about 2.5 cubes with 2 4in ports. I did take the ports and tune them lower, and that helped a little, but it seems like the box size is holding back the speaker, seems like it needs to be bigger, but the prefab is degrading it alot. The box was $170 new at a local shop, the guy hyped it up and said that it was super strong and the joints were connected together in a special way, and not a week later I blew the box. Well after messing around with the shop another week later they finally gave me a new box, same one, thought mabey it was defective, NOT, blew that one out within a couple of days. So I screwed the sh*it out of it, works, but flexes alot. X Scorpion makes the crappiest boxes I have ever seen, I will post pics of it later when I get off work.

I have a 12 Eternal and built a box. I made it out of 3/4' MDF and doubled the top piece of wood becuz when it’s hitten, the wood flexes. So plan on bracing it or something. My box I made was only for SPL not SQ. Its 5 cubes @ 36Hz. It you want better sound quality tune it lower but if you want all out bass tune it higher. My eternal can flex my roof about 3 inches and bounce a full bottle of water about half a foot in the air. Also I covered the entire inside of my truck with weather striping to increase SPL. But if you want sq, a 2-3 cube box should be fine. But if you want bass don’t go any lower then a 4 cube box. In my opinion I would only go with one large port. But it’s up to the builder and what your looken for. Check my videos of my old immortal and my eternal on the video pg.

I would build the box like you said.

3.5 or 4 cubic feet. build on the bigger side if you want a smoother response but keep in mind that can reduce mechanical handling (will reach xmax with less power but will sound better if tuned low around 30hz)

just make sure you plan EVERY cut and take your time putting it together. use wood glue and screws. pre-drill holes for the screws first so you dont split the wood. also BRACE the box... as youve already learned a weak box is no fun at all.

I will be building a box as well this weekend a great place to look at bracing options is jlaudios tutorials. go to jlaudio.com then support then tutorials.
