Default Generic Boxes For the ROE Box Page!

Ok its been discussed that having a ROE box page with generic boxes would benefit alot of people.

I'll spearhead the effort. We need ported and sealed boxes. For 6" to 18" subs. Volumes ranging from .25cuft to 6 cuft. Tunings ranging from 25 to 45Hz.

There will be alot of boxes obviously. So everyone can help out. To avoid confusion I think we all should use sketchup for drawing. Its free and easy to use.

Also you don't need to be incredibly accurate. For instance a .7cuft box I designed is really 0.738cuft. Will that make a difference? Yes. Can you really tell the difference? Probably not. Try to avoid careless mistakes.

I will start posting boxes here. The mods will likely arrange everything neatly in the box page.

Please list the dimensions, net volume, tuning, and port area. Try to use the rule of thumb 15sqin/cuft. Its hard sometimes.

Avoid kerfing and flaring, newbs will have a hard time doing that.

I think thats all.

i dont have a box drawn up yet but i think there should be a mod for this thread to make sure the boxes are real boxes and not just things noobs pulled out of their a$$. Mabey all boxes could go through a moderator through pms, then the mod posts them. each brand could get their own section like the vid section. Just my $.02

Here is a box wenn designed for me.
total its 7.1cf net 5.4cf

Heres some more for ya guys. (I gave the 40 and 45 hz ones more port area, since they will robably be used in more SPL oriented applications, and thus the extra port area should be beneficial.)

The last two are a little larger than the first three due to the smaller port volume, and I didn't adjust the external dimensions. They are about .1cuft larger. But they will still work fine for a sub that is recommended a 3.5cuft box. This should have a minimal effect on mechanical Power handling(slightly less) and efficieny(slightly more).

Keep in mind that I drew a 14" cut out, but you could use them for 2 12s, if you moved the port. The tuning won't change as long as you don't change the volume of the box or the length and area of the port. So with this in mind you should position the port in a way that works best in your vehicles, what I sketched is by no means the best method.

Do you guys think it would be worth while posting up boxes designed for 2 subs, which have 2 separate chambers?

This one could work for 2 15s(lol not many would like a box this small however) or 2 12s

Net volume: 4cuft (2 per chamber)
Tuning: 30Hz
Port Area: 60(15"Hx4"W)
Dimensions:16.5H"X21.5D"x36W"

What do you guys think?
I'll do regular 4cuft boxes as well.

So the same 4 cuft box with a single chamber(it is slightly smaller due to the port using less mdf. And the other one is a bit bigger IIRC) Again this one could be used for 1 15 or 2 12s
Net volume: 4cuft (2 per chamber)
Tuning: 30Hz
Port Area: 60(15"Hx4"W)
Dimensions:16.5H"X21.5D"x34.75W"

So should I just do ones like this or should I also do a set of double ones like the one in my last post?

Default Re: Generic Boxes For the ROE Box Page!

Net volume: 4cuft
Tuning: 33Hz
Port Area: 61.75 sq in(13"Hx4.75"W)
Dimensions:14.5H"X23.5D"x34W"

This would work for a single 15 or 18 with the sub on the top panel.
It would also work for a pair of 12s mounted on the same panel as the port.
I didn't bother drawing cutouts to reflect that.
Actual volume is: 545.87500 * 13 (cu in) = 4.1066985 cu ft. This leaves some room for the displacement of the subs.

Volume: 4 cu ft
Tuning: 40Hz
Port Area: 78 sq in(13"Hx6"W)
Dimensions:14.5H"X23.5D"x34W"

This would work for a single 15 or 18 with the sub on the top panel.
It would also work for a pair of 12s mounted on the same panel as the port.
I didn't bother drawing cutouts to reflect that.
Actual volume is: 549.62500 * 13 (cu in) = 4.1349103 cu ft. This leaves some room for the displacement of the subs.
Port area was increased versus the previous 4 cu ft enclosures. This is to compensate for the higher port velocities at caused by tuning higher.(This is more evident with SPL subs with very low Q)

you sure about this one? it only has 1/2'' wider than the port against that last wall. I feel like that would drop the tuning a little lower.

Good eye, you're right. :P I have a feeling it was supposed to go 2" from the wall, not 2.5"

Alright, alright I was off by 1.4% for the tuning, and 1% for the volume.
That's not too bad :P

But yeah, I corrected the length of the port, it shouldn't have been like that. I should have known better than to do that.
