Default box in the box

So what you guys think....I was bored and figured why not. Been a while since I built a box...so I though I would get the cob webs out. The original design is from F3rr3t....but I had to snub some of the numbers to make it fit.
Thanks you F3rr3t.
Dont really know how it sounds yet. I am letting the polyerathane cure.<---cant spell it...lol
The diminsions are 13.5 x 45 x 34 before factoring the 3/4" mdf. After factoring that in, the box is 11.044ft3 before port and 6.752ft3 after port. port has going by some port calculator supposively the box is tuned at 31hz.

car: 89 chevy caprice police package
Subs: 2 kicker comp vr 18s 4ohm
amp: hks4000d
Electric: 230 amp alt/1 yellow top opti/2 1600 kinetic bats
deck: pioneer 4900ib
highs: pioneer 3 1/2s and 6x9 alpine somethings...lol Infinity kappa 1" titaniums
no highs amp yet..but sound ok.

So dont laugh at it two hard

seems almost like your gonna be suffocating the sub/port with the trunk lid... Either way it will prbably be loud.. definitely going to be some rattles

i would definately throw some deadening on that trunk lid and crank it down as tight as possible(assuming the latch is adjustable)

It rattle like [email protected] before...but that was only on the outside. Inside you could not hear any of that and but now I guess I will have to invest in some deadening for my floating couch.

Hmmm if you ever get bored with that box, you may want to try a 4th order bandpass, and fire it right into the cabin. I call it: Rattles Be Gone!

It took...me and my neighbor with the subs out. you cant see in pic, but it is double up underneath the faceplate. So it is kinda heavy...lol It went in fairly easiy...had to do the letter L to hinge it in...but other than that fits awesome.....just adjusting the hk kinda sucked...plus I only put one of them back in there...i am not sure how I can fit the other one in unless I stack them with some space between them.

I have a 89 caprice with the police package too. That 5.7L is nuts, did some crazy ass burnouts. When my dad bought it in 92 or 93 that thing was in perfect condition, ran great, had no rust at all. Highway patrol Car ftw!!!

i hope it is not so big that your impeding the flow into the cabin.
it could possibly be not as loud as the one 15.

but i do hope my worries are pointless.

other than that looks good

Ok....it really sucks..but I said I would do atleast one. I will take some better ones later in week when it is not too windy out. It got some pressure inside, but most of the 15-20 mph wind was jacking up my good bass beats with stuff moving in the car. It hits really low..but that is what I wanted. Everything sounds like it is gonna fall apart and I still need to get the amp on them. Then they should get alittle bit louder.
