Be brave, like me.

I tuned my 15" ICON box to 25hz.

That's tuned pretty high for daily IMO. Tuning that high could hurt your low-end response, and you're running the risk of launching a cone (via overexcursion) if you're playing below tuning with a good amount of Power behind it.

I would try to tune it to the mid/low 30s for daily if possible.

Hahaha! That was pretty gay! -what he did, not your post, dustin420

I'm tuned @ 26.6Hz, and the low end (from ONE 10") is amazing.

Box type does not have a direct relation to cone control -considering the other options (other than sealed) are set-up properly.

what are you talking about? Box type has alot to do with cone controll... You realize taht with a ported box excursion is 1/4 its normal excursion at the tuning frequency? Or that between a ported and a sealed box (both at reasonable sizes for the particular driver) the sealed will excurt more. Or the fact that with t-lines are low powered because they are virtually free airing the sub meaning almost no cone controll...

it might not be direct, but its damn clsoe to being direct.

btw, sorry if I come off as a dick.

btw to the op, depending on the power/subs/setup ect a SQL box would be mid thirties to lower thirties.

Hey bro,

Just trying to help you here since I’ve been in a similar situation. All you would have to do to tune a little lower is add vent length. So just make the piece of wood that you cut for the back part of the vent around 12” long instead of 8.25”. That will tune you closer to 32 or so. This will help your sub in the end. Especially if you like to play loud and low.

Best regards,

Erik
