build for 03 crown vic

Hey, a friend of mine wants my help. He's got a limit of $2000 for amp, sub(s), and wiring.

If anyone has experience with a crown vic like this, let me get some ideas on what I should do. Such as the resonant frequency (fs) of these cars, what you've done, etc...

I'm thinking either 2 15's sealed or 1 15 ported on a SAX-1500D. Possibly even a 3000D if I can find 2 15's that can handle it for under $1000 for the pair.

Give some ideas...

I'll be getting measurements later on tonight, so I will update when I see what i'm working with.

Yep. He heard my 10" the other night. It does 135 at 35Hz, sealed on the dash with the TL.

I'm guessing he wants a 140+ that goes decently low.

I'm going to try to get some dimensions before I decide what subs to do. Right now i'm mainly seeing if anyone has experience/ideas with/for these cars.

*Oh, it does have the police package. So, it's got the 200a alternator. I'm going to do the Big3 for now. The 200amper should do the job...

if your going for loudness in tha cabin he has some work cut out for him because of our trunk setup.............but 2 15s ported would do tha trick, if he could have some glass or neatly make a vent in tha back dash it would allow alot more bass into tha cabin area, last setup i had was a hifonics 2600.1 on two stroker 15's, it was a nice setup but i still wanted louder

I've got 9.84954 cubes to work with. *This is using 1.5" MDF, too

So, I can do 2 15" Q's sealed OR 1 18" Q ported. I could use the 3000D on the 15's, or the 1500D on the 18".

^^^bigjon from SSA.com. 2 Sundown Niteshades and a SAZ-3000D to Power them. IIRC, Jacob still has some of the 15" Niteshades that are blemished. Good prices on them, too. You could hit up db-r for a refurb'd amplifier. He has a year warranty on his repairs on those amps.

I'd try to find a ho alternator, too. Wiring, Kicker kit of course. Larger batteries would come in handy, too.

Is the $2k with mids and highs, too?

I'm going to use bulk 0g wire. I'll get the terminals and crimp/solder/shrinkwrap everything myself.

$2000 is just for sub(s), amp, and power/speaker wire.

They are having a blow out on the 12's, though...
