Default Splitting port question.

when doing a port down the middle of a dual sub box. like in between the subs, when you get to the back and split. do you divide the port width in half for each sub right. so say my total port is 4x14x30 so once i get to the split sat after 15" then do i go 2"x14x7.5 for each side? like do i split the remaining length between the two subs?

or would i run it 15" more for each side also.

understand what im trying to say?

you would split it in half yes 14x2 would be correct but you need to go 15" for each side after the split

how does this box look for two SA 12's? tuned to around 30-32. each chamber is like 1.9 before sub displacement. roughly...

port is 12.5x3.5x28 total.

i listen to rock and rap 50/50. gonna be running 1K to each sub, this will be in a cut through in my pickup.

i see you having port velocity issues, need more port IMO, the 1.9 is a little small but should do alright, should have a flat response. i would bump the port up to about 12.5x 4.5 or 5, but doing that you will need to lengthen it also.

if i bump the port area up will i lose out on my flat response? i was kinda looking for more sound quality rather then more peaky. you think 1.9 is a little small? after sub displacement should put me right around 1.75 right? thats what the recommendation is correct? and im putting a little more Power to them also. thought the smaller enclosure would kinda help control the sub...

thanks for the input perfect. not saying your wrong or anything by questioning, some people get offended, i think i stayed within the 12-16 inches of port per foot right? after all displacements the box is 3.5 cubes net? im right at 12.5 of port per foot...

i guess i could bump it up just in case. just will have to COMPLETELY redesign that that point. make the port a little bigger and then the box will DEF be too small. lol ughhhh, this **** is a challenge.

as far as flat response 1.75 after displacment is great. you will lose a little output from them but that imo isnt always a bad thing lol just means you need more sd or more Power to get the added output. lol but flat response is always a plus. adding to port wont affect response curve at all, just keeps you from having chuffing. driving a pair of sa12's at 1k apiece and only having 12.5 per cubic foot i see you having too much port air velocity. i try to stay to the higher of the 12-16 per cubic foot side. ill try to remember to punch it into winisd tomorrow and i will be able to tell you what your port velocity will be.
