Trying to learn how to build slot boxes

I'm trying to learn how to Build slot boxes, this will be my first box with out using (RE Box Cal). Can someone double check to see if the port is right. The box is 15h x 36w x 25d. Looking for around 27-28hz for 2 X12.

ok the port area is kinda low....10 to 11 square inches per cubic foot is low for a slot port you need 14 to 16 square inches per cubic foot and do you have room to do a side port? ....is it going in a trunk SUV what? trunk wall?

Car Chevy cobalt. For that side box it will fix.

at 36 inches wide how much room is there for the port to breath? width from port to wheel well? it must be at least the width of the port away from anything

if i understand you, 15x36x24 is the max dimension i that will fix. box will be firing in to the car

ok the dimentions you gave are max.....and they recomend 2.5 cubic foot for each sub?

Should I just stick with round ports. I might can for 26d. i'll have to check later today if that will help.

how much Power you going to be giving the x 12's?

well you would need all of the max measurments to make this work and the port would need to be widened to 4.5 inches so do you have 4.5 inches on the side of the box for the port to breath?

4.5 should be find.

and are you sure you want to tune that low 27 to 28hz is low as hell....lowest id tune is 29....even at 29 you could dip down to 24hz with authority

29hz will be ok.

with at least 4.5 inches of space on the port side of box it would effectivlly lower tuning another 2hz....and mount the woofers closer together and away from the port opening inside the box that will help port tuning aswell

i had to enlarge the port to get the right amount of port area....i try at get at least 15.5 square inches of port per design

the lowest i would ever go on a slot port is 14.5 square inches of port per cube...and 10 square inches of port per cube on aero's
