So last night I had to take a sub out to do something and when I put it back in I couldn't find the original holes so I just made new ones I'm wondering if those old holes will cause me to lose any db? I. Actually got pretty close and now I'm worried about losing dbeez or the screws coming out because the hole is bigger I guess?
If done correctly, you should have had an impression left from your basket into the carpet or finish... What did you have to do?? < just curious
I had the Speaker wires coming from the amp into the box under the sub so I decided to do it correctly so I had to take out the sub the Wire was under. I don't remember and impression. This is 1" thick birch if that makes a difference and the subs have only been in for two days.
I'm looking at it from under the box and it looks like the screws are in the exact same place but when I tried to put the screws back in with a screwdriver and it wasn't going in so I had to use a driver to drill them in. It might just be placebo but it doesn't look or feel as snug as the other subs.
As long as the sub doesn't move and is air tight and don't make a habit of making new screw holes it gets annoying when every hole is stripped out

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm good. I'm actually banging as I type this and it's only getting louder from breaking in. And sub smell is gone...
I can move an envelope containing my phone bill if I holds it next to the window but nothing a camera can pick up. Still moves though. I'm sure a thousand more watts will do a paper trick.
Maybe maybe not won't know till you give um another 1k

slice off a piece of wood (make it like a toothpick/splinter) and use it to fill the old holes add some wood glue before inserting them into the holes
works great i've used this method for many jobs....even works in door jambs and other wood working projects when you have to move screws
