Having a problem designing a box for 2 sundown E15.v2. Got all the info of sundowns sight and all seems imputed into winsd correctly but the tuning is just way to high. Please can someone check the photos. Maybe you can see something I can not. Thank you.
what kind of power? and the re box calculator is usually 4 to 6hz off on tuning....i can design one for you and post on here post up max measurments..and what type of music you mainly listen to? and desired tuning?

Im running 1/0 gauge back to 2 100 ah batteries then to an audiopipe m1501d. It's about 10 years old and still runs well @ 1ohm so let's say clean 1000 watts. Big 3 done and stock alt is 160 amp. Car is 11 Dodge Grand Caravan. Music.....hmmmm I'm an older Dj and I listen mostly to old house, old rap, old freestyle, throw in now a day pop music like imagine dragons, dis, major lazer, elk king so pretty much everything.
Max dimension are 49 1/8" inch width 18" high and 18" deep
since your not into a bunch of low bass music like decaf and dj slownthrow type stuff that has ben rebassed....and you do like older stuff id tune somewhere in the 34 to 35hz range....and set the subsonic on amp at 28hz or so...and it should do good into the upper 60hz range....but if you want i can get started designing a 34hz tuned box for 2 e 15's would you want it to be slot ported? or aeroported?...the aero box would be smaller physically but the ports do cost some money depending on port size upwards of 40 per port....for the 6 inch ones but the aero ports do have its advantages like being able to remove them and lengthen or shortedn them to change the tuning to your liking slot ports cant...but in the end its all in how much money you want to spend

ok with the max measurments you gave me and a slot port design its going to end up being to small...and borderline with aeroports as well.....so can it go any taller or deeper?...it can still be a little on the small side like 3 cubes per sub after all displacments it will just require a bit more Power to get them going like they should....that audiopipe wont be up to par....at 14.4 at 1 ohm those amps only do around 1000 watts....however after box rise and voltage drop its more like 600 to 700 watts...so bottom line your going to need a stronger amp....something that actually does 1500rms at 1 ohm...if price is a problem them pick up a new rockville rxd m4....new on ebay there under 150 bucks....they birth and are certified to do 1500+ mine birthed at 1512...there on the cheap side but they do rated....so let me know

Hey K.B. Sorry for the long wait for reply. Long day. I've looked at your amp suggestion and I still can't believe that thing does rated Power at that price. But it is funny because I've been looking at upgrading to either an alpine mrp-1100d or sundowns saz-1500d. Anyway I'm running out of time. I got hurt at work and I'm left with a bumbed shoulder that they will be cutting into soon.
What do you think about a single sub setup. I know the sup pounds cause I bought a prefab at a local place. It sounded like crap so I gutted it out and tuned with some pvc pipe and I have to say. Songs like ll cool j's booming system sounded well in a box way to big for a single sub. But sounded like crap on any regular music. Had no punch to it.
Do you think 1 sub in the correct box will do any justice? I don't have the room as you can see in the picture above for a larger box. I still would have to keep the 49 1/8" long but the other 2 lengths can be adjusted up to a max of 18."
I guess after the surgery and I'm back to work I'll be looking into a pair of 12's, I know I got the room for that size. Thanks for your help K.B.
Get a sealed dual 15 box and put some poly fill in the chambers about half full that should yield great punch and decent bass till you get a couple of 12's and then build a decent ported box for them...but the generic ported boxes usually sound like poop simply to small of port area but order a simple sealed dual 15 box or find one local and just run a small hint of bass boost on the amp a small amount won't hurt them
