That's a pretty vague question. Type of music? Power? Vehicle?

At first glance it seems fine, but it all depends

Agreed. Personally I'd go with a smaller box and lower tuning...but I like low end monsters..

2000 nissan altima, 1500 watts. rap.

im currently running 2.7 cubes at 34hz. what would 2.8 at 35hz sound like?

dustin420 05-01-2008 09:33 PM

do you have ts specs for that sub? looks good overall but again really genral question. i say try it if it doesn't meet your needs build a different box.

umm im pretty sure you will NOT notice a difference. .1 cf and going up 1hz isn't gonna do anything.

XterraMayne 05-01-2008 09:36 PM

lol. Just stick with what you have right now. Making the box .1 cubes bigger and 1 hz higher in tuning wont be very noticable.

XterraMayne 05-01-2008 09:37 PM

Dammit didnt see your post dustin lol.

tymoto21 05-01-2008 09:37 PM

changing it that much prob wont make much of a difference.
my 15 hcca pounds on 6cf @ 32hz with 72in of port.

orionhcca 05-01-2008 09:44 PM

the thing is it dosent pick up some bass lines that are to deep like the song late night tip. i need more port area i have 36. something now if i change it to 2.8 at 35 its gonna go up to 47. something...should i do 2.8 at 36 or 38? how would that sound?

That song has really low bass lines...Try tuning to 30Hz to pick them up.

Tuning higher will make it worse.

orionhcca 05-02-2008 05:07 PM

so how come people say its louder when you tune it higher? how would i get a wide port and more port area?

Theres a balance between bandwidth and gain.

If you decrease the bandwidth the gain typically increases.

Tuning higher decreases the bandwidth and increases gain typically.

i'm going to agree with fallen on this one...
make a new enclosure tuned lower, like in the 32 - 33 area.

if it was my woofer, i would go with a larger enclosure, maybe 3 cubic feet, but nothing more than that

orionhcca 05-02-2008 07:30 PM

if i tune it around there will it still get loud and deep and pick all the tones?

Make it longer.

If you're unsure of what you're doing ask someone to design you a box.
