if he wanted to spend some morey I would run a mojo 12 inverted between the seats and do as big of a box as you can. Damn this makes me wish I hadnt sold my S10 cause now I have a mojo 12 and am looking to use it on some special project that I havnt determined yet

well, i know its POSSIBLE to get about 2.5 cubes back there, but he wants to be comfortable. so far i can only get 1.5 cubes back there and be comfortable too.

im only like 5' 6" so i could go up further, but he cant, he is like 6' 2"

so, im thinking of just going with 2 8's sealed. its seems like the best thing to do, and he is just loving my sonotube idea with a sub on each end. or i could go with a nice 8" sub ported.

i will check the truck out later and see if there is any more space available. do you guys think we could rip out the interior behind the seats and see if there is anymore room?

edit: does anyone know the price range of a DD 8" sub?

I would just cut out the jack there is no more room behind the seats unless you get rid of that plastic piece under the rear glass

no.....theres not much room if you rip everything out.

Im 6' 2" too......i used to run 2 10" Visoniks when i first got the truck....just under a cube each. the box fit between the jack and drivers edge of truck.

just go with 8's or cut the wall and blow through

Ok, here's what you need to do. Take the middle console and middle seat out because that is where the port and amp rack are going to go. Also take eother your passenger side seat or you driver side seat out .Get yourself two rockford fosgate T1's 10" subs and put them in 1.50 cubes of air space each. Your slot port area should be 4"x 12"x25.5". I have a 2001 GMC Sierra regular cab pick up and this set up slams. I can even do a hair trick. Here are some pics of my set up and also a vid of the hair trick.

nevermind the x7, i dont have it anymore.
Here is the vid of the hair trick with just two tens

I am also 6'2. I still have some leg room.

the main problem I see with his idea is that the S10 most likely has 60/40 split seats and you cant remove the middle seat without a custom hack job from an upolstery shop or new bucket seats all together

the only thing he wants to modify in his interior is the jack, he wants it gone. so, i think 4 8" tang band or 2 10 assassins will work fine for what he wants

he doesnt have enough Power for those, he only has about 200 dollars. then he miht go buy another amp. but the amp he has is only about 350 wrms at 2 ohm.

so, im looking for low power low cost drivers. like the tang band 8, assassin, dayton subwoofers, and maybe a single 12 handling roughly 300-400 watts

the Rl-i would be perfect then the RMS on it is 350 watts and it can be had in dual 4 so it could be wired at 2ohms plus it costs $165 from the ROE store

i just thought of something.

image dynamics idq 10. nto sure if they make 8's. the 10 takes a box space of .7 cubes. this is from id's website. the subs arent expensive and sound awesoem as hell. i have one. ran it for liek 5 months in my 79 camaro.

look into the idq line also. very nice stuff

im actually going to get a box built by stratus most likely. i just got a jl audio 8w7 for the back fo my truck. it will fit that space rather nicely. the way i figured it out i can keep my seat back where i drive and still abtou 1.5 cubes left. and still have room to mount amps ect. i gotta see how it will all fit once i get everything. im going to put 2 eu700 elemental design subs in the back somewhere also. just gotta figure everything out

when i get my box ill let you know how we made out. if startus gets a good design im going to have him Build the box. maybe you shoudl talk to him as well.
