OK I paused the video and the brand name is Extech, I looked it up and I think it only goes up to 130Db. So I searched for "sound level meters" and looked at many but couldn't find anything that goes over 130. Oh well, scrap that idea.

That meter was garbage. It was SOLELY for looks. If you want a real meter get the Term-Lab SPL meter. It is currently the best on the market, in my opinion. I love mine. It costs $630 though, plus you need a computer.

Yeah I don't really want to spend that much coin just to meter my system once. I'd probably have to drive for days to find someone with a TermLab. I'm so damn isolated! lol (see for yourself on the ROE map). Such a small town with no Car audio shops, customizing shops or anything, everything has to be ordered in. The car audio and modification scene is slowly growing though.

Any estimates on my system?

SPLmeter.com. I have heard they are pretty accurate. At least it goes up to 150dB.

if you want an in-car spl meter, the best one out there is the epic-160.

Accurate??? Defiantly not. I use to have the 150 dB. one. I compared it to my Term-Lab when I got it. The meter was 4 dB. high. I know it was the SPLmeter.com SPL meter that was wrong because the Term-Lab meter is one of the most accurate meters in the world. It is almost perfectly linear. It has a linearity error level of no more then .05%.

Just remember… you get what you pay for.

That one again is quite inaccurate. But considering you can get it for under $200, it's defiantly not a bad buy for someone who is not looking to compete seriously.

There are only a couple of meters out there that are truly accurate at high SPL levels and low frequencies. Those are:
1. Term-Lab
2. Audiocontrol SPL-190 sensor
3. B&K SPL meter

The Term-Lab is not only the least expensive, it’s the best choice.
