i would use 4 rli-8's( or subs similar) powered by some sort of 2000wrms amplifier. if you can fit a 2/3 cubic foot enclosure i think you would be good to go.

He going to have a hard time finding rl-i's, especial four of them. He could look into 6 assassin 8's tho. That would run him a little under 600 shipped and be easier to Power then the AQ or DD's. Not to mention it would sound a heck of alot better.

I have mine in a similar box, but tuned to 33Hz with a 12" passive radiator.

The damn passive will bottom first...(well especially at tuning...either way its impressive to see a 8" sub driving a 12" cone a good 12mm each way..)

They are some serious little subs. And the price is great.

If you want to go with 1 or 2 12s thats doable. You have enough space to do 2, just make sure they'll fit in the mounting depth(7.75" IIRC)

We could fire the 12s forward and the port up.

I'm still thinking the 8s might be a better idea. Don't need to worry about them hitting the seat.(they could be fired up.

I think I'm leaning on the TB or AA subs.

I would do six, seeing you have the space and the budget. I would personaly due AA Assassins tho, not that the TB isnt a nice drive, because it is but it doesnt compair to the assassin.

For a box i would do something like this, subs firing forward on the passanger side and port up on the drivers.

look into kickers CVTs
they get loud fairly easy and unlike most shallow mount subs, they actually sound good in ported boxes
If you do shallow mounts get the pioneer shallow mounts. They get real loud, sound really good and have a shallower mouting distance I think by an inch and a half. I used them and installed them under a seat of a F250 and it shook the truck. Great subs. if you go that route. Pioneers ftw

Hmm. Doesn't look too hard to make. I've never built a box before. I can get all the tools Id need though.
What program is that?
I might get it metered when I get done. I hope I can hit around 125-130...or more..

Looks good man. My gripe with 6 is theres only 4.25cuft to work with, and after port and sub displacements that leaves about .5cuft per driver.

Hopefully its enough...I'd go with 4 personally.

Whats that box tuned to anyways?

:P you should be in the 140s.

Its sketchup

Get the wood cut at home depot, you can do the smaller cuts at home.

AAs specs won't tell you what you'll hit.

Its sketch up, and it wont be hard to build. Its a very basic design so you shouldnt have anything to worry about. You should deffintly be able to do over a 130 tho. I did a 133 to music w/ a single 8 and 400rms. Standard cab trucks dont meter well tho, but i can promise you it will meter above that. For specs go to www.ascendantaudio.com

Box is 3ft^3 @ 34hz after all displace. Personaly, in a comon chamber, .5 cubes isnt to small for an 8.

What would be the diemesnions of the box?(stupid question lol.. I've got an idea but I wanna be sure)
What do you use to reinforce the box inside I think in the port area, is it fiberglass?
3/4 MDF?
I don't plan on competing with it, just for curiousity (I'm gunna have to drive 6-7 hours to get to the nearest TL.
Thanks Corey, you've been a big help.

you dont need to reinforce any thing other than the baffle. (the part the subs go in)
and that is already in corey's design

The box is 23hx52wx8.25d (same as max dimensions). The only braces you will need are the ones i put by the subs, and you can use mdf for that. Its basicly to prevent any flex of the baffle or rear wall.

3/4" MDF?
I'm still trying to figure out how to calculate the diemensions of each piece I need to cut out.
Sorry for all the stupid questions I'm tired.

It tells me that they preferred to carry a more mainstream product that more people are use to hearing about..

Aside from that im not sure what you were alluding to.

Heres what I would do personally. 1 16OV2 in a 4cuft box(well 4.10, but it takes up .1) tuned to 35Hz.

Its much cheaper than multiple smaller subs, and he should get good results with it. One issue will be the subs clearances...the pole vent will be rendered useless. Just an option I'm throwing out there.

thats a great design, its functional and simple. i love assassins, if the 8's are anything like the 10" version i would go for it. what amp are you reccomending for this? but i do forsee a problem...i cant find Ascendant audio on SSA anymore
