first thing you need is wood

MDF,Trupan or 11 ply birch will all work. expect to pay double for the trupan and birch.

next you need a way to cut the wood in nice straight lines the cheapest way to do this is with a circular saw theres really no need to get a 100 dollar plus saw if your just using it for a few projects.

the best way to get straight cuts with a circular saw is with a sled show here http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...d/RipCirc.html

on to cutting sub holes there are 3 ways to do this
1. a hammer and chisel (just joking unless your a cave man)
2. a jigsaw hard to get a accurate cut and a pain in the ass
3. a router with a circle jig

we will discuss option 3 any plunge router will work you will either need to buy a circle jig aka a "jasper jig". or you can Build one shown here http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~58139~PN~1

now down to construction
you need wood glue and screws

i prefer titebond 2 but you may not have that there so choose a wood glue.

screws no matter which ones you use (YOU HAVE TO PRE-DRILL FIRST) or you will split the wood. most use 1 5/8 course thread screws just say that at your local hardware store they should know what you want.

do not get drywall screws the heads break off easily if over torqued

i put a screw every 4 inches you dont want to go less than 2.5 it puts un-needed stress on the wood.

once your box is assembled i like to knock down the corners of my box with sandpaper or you can get a bit for your router called a (round over) 3/8th is a good size.

next is sealing u can use wood glue on the inside seams make a bead with your finger. or you can use silicone.this shoudlnt be needed if you used enough glue and have nice cuts.

now geting Power into the box.

1.you can either run Wire through the port (this is qhetto you will be flamed)
2. use 1/4 inch stainless steel bolts. drill hole slightly smaller install bolt, use a not to secure the ring terminal attached to the wire to the bolt
3. (the option i use) http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...umber=091-1245

your down now let your box sit for 24 hours so everything can cure and install and make videos for us to see.

HOPE THIS HELPED

P.S. i may have forgot something and the layout sucks but it is 5am and im running on beer and cheetos and i aint got my beer goggles on
