Default Made a small purchase today....

ive been blabbering about it for months.ive done my comparisons and looked at these and looked at those and ive finally decided that is am going with Audioque...sooo i bought a single audioque sdc2.5...

if this subs lives up to my expectations then ill be buying 7 more very soon...yes i said 7 for a total of 8...these will eventually be walled off in my truck but for now theybe going in my current box.which is a design from Pete at hexibase.ill Build a a few different boxes for it and test them all..

pics and updates when it arrives...im on my last leg when it comes to 10inch subs so i hope this works out..

ive heard that these subs like high tuning...if they r anything like DD's then there is probally some truth to that..i had my DD3518 tuned to 41.5hz and it slammed the lows for only 1 18 and 1700rms..any ideas on what these should be tuned at??

it has a fs of 33 hz, so it may like a lower tuning, but ive also heard they like a tuning around 40hz

I've used a few 2.5s and hdc3s. I've seen the highest output at 40hz tuning. They do have good low end extension. The last box I built was for just below 36 hz tuning and in doing so instead of the normal 6 db gain at tuning, I netted just about 3 dbz at tuning, but the lows ROCK like no other.

i might start at 38hz and go from there..did the 2.5's lack the lows when tuned to 40hz?

They didn't "lack" the low end, and they were freakishly loud. It isn't that the low end is insanely impressive, it's that it is impressive how well it played the lows for being in a box tuned to 40 hz. Make sense?

yes ive had the same results with my old dd3518e...just wanted to get that cleared up...

ill be doing some testing in different boxes with the one that i have ordered before i order 7 more....i was thinking about changable ports but with a tuning of about 40hz there should be no need..we will see
